Regardless of what we think of the regime we need to give this fella a fair crack of the whip.

He's not the type of manager I'd have appointed. I would've gone for a more experienced and established manager. Someone with enough presence and balls to make the regine question everything it does.

However, there was about as much chance of them employing someone like that as there is of me having a threesome with the cheeky girls...!!

I fear that Chris Wilder it's about as good as it's gunna get.

I agree - I'm not upset by the appointment, thought Nick has a valid point about it not putting bums on seats.

My concerns are that as well as his terrific job at Northampton, it will still be a relatively 'cheap' appointment. And then I don't know Wilders temperament.

In a normal world with a normal owner I'd be pleased with this appointment. Shame.

Happy to give Wilder a go.

Although I would just have easily preferred Riga to stay on, as he's not necessarily an improvement.

Agree with the pay off when he gets sacked is probably decent that's the lure ...then he can go to a normal club reputation intact slagging off the regime

If it fails - his reputation is fine. We're a mess and that's his saving grace.

Shows where we are as a club when people are getting excited at the prospect of us poaching Northampton town's manager.

    I'm far from excited Don...!!

Just resigned to the fact that Chris Wilder is about as good as it's going to get for us under the gruesome twosome :emoticon-0101-sadsm.

Agree Franco. I was referring to what I have seen on other forums and social media though.

Genuinely two of the best successive posts ever Eddie and Billy :emoticon-0136-giggl

So apparently Wilder was on loan twice with us in the very early 90s. I was 1 at the time so I think I'm excused, but does anyone remember him?

Presumably he played under Lennie? Does that add weight to the Director of Football rumours?

Despite getting a manager that knows one English league, we still need about 5 to 6 proper players, with either decent Championship potential and/or played in the Championship.

That'll be the tell, on how serious they are at getting up and changing their philosophy.

My thoughts exactly. Willing to give Wilder a chance in normal circumstances, but does he even understand what he is walking into?

Fans are talking about getting the first home game of next season abandoned. Are we going to have the 20 foot fence at every home game? Will Katrien consumate her relationship with Naby Sarr over the summer? So many unknowns...

Wilder is a very strange one.Seen a few interviews with him on YouTube and he's no ones patsy no way will he bit to this mob it's gonna end in tears.
I can see him taking over and resigning before August !
Maybe he sees it as a challenge because of the crap goin on and relishes it ,really can't get my head around it.
Saying that saw a tweet the other day how far have we fallen when we get excited about taking Northamptonshire manager !
