I shared one tiny bedroom with my elder sister until she moved out at age 19. Kids these days, blah blah..........
My sister was 8 years older than me (still is, actually). I was a complete pain for her when she was in her mid-teens and trying to have any sort of privacy.
Not the end of the World this mate, you can still do it. So using your example, your £80k home is now worth £75 leaving a £5k drop in equity. That equates to a market drop of 6.3%. Assuming you're staying in the same locale then the same 6.3% drop would make the £130k house you want drop to £121,810. Your 15% deposit @£130k would have been £19,500, at the new lower price that drops to £18,271. In addition your mortgage on the new place would drop by just over £8k, which on an average rate over 25 years equates to circa £40 a month less you'll have to find. So simple solution, you get a loan to cover the circa £4k shortfall. A £4k loan would cost you £77 a month over 5 years at average rates. So to make the move happen you have to find an additional £37 a month net for 5 years. 6.3% sounds extreme btw, oh and you should have voted Remain ffs
credit to RAWK here some lads are absolutely obsessed with this development over there. I thought you guys might now mind seeing.
