The HDM live blog is stating that SB is at 4/1 to become the new manager. I will be frank here. Steve had reached his tether and left. I do not wish him any ill will but I firmly believe that you cannot step into the same river twice. It's Mick for me. I have no desire to go back.
I've always thought it was probably time to move on if we went up or not. I feel he's taken us as far as he could.
2 more games this month....if MP get's anything out of them with our small squad then it'll be hard to see SB coming back. Time to give someone else (MP) a go. It doesn't sound like Mrs Bruce wants him to come back anyway?
The style of football we played on Saturday was exactly how we should have played in the championship which would have seen us champions no problem, Bruce is just too stuck in his ways and would never allow the shackles to be removed. Thanks for everything steve but fresh start is well overdue
It's easy to climb aboard the Phelan train but it was just one result. From what I can see and ready SB and MP didn't get on that well. Not convinced on Phelan but there were less restraints on the team on Saturday, however should Vardy have sunk one or more of those relatively easy chance the talk of Phelan might be a little different. One result doesn't make a season. Let's not get carried away, but I wouldn't want to see Brucey back - it's Phelan or AN Other for me
He should have had this season but his time is done, people want different things from football and I like attacking stuff not negativity and hoping for the best which unfortunately we got a lot from Bruce in the last few years. I had the feeling all last season that we were getting away with it tactically so thanks Brucey for all the happy memories, if he comes back I can see it being a dour season then relegation, why not go down fighting
The way he was forced to leave was bad and not how things should have ended - that rankles somewhat. But from a level-headed point of view I do think he had reached his limit with us and we probably need someone with fresh ideas. I will always be thankful to Brucie for his achievements though, (particularly May 4th 2013) and for being the voice of stability and sanity in a sea of madness.
I don't think it would be a good idea for SB to return, I didn't want him to go, but I think it was probably the best time for him! I think MP should be given the job, for his experience, not for the result on Saturday! I always thought he'd get it if SB was Sacked, some of the other names were interesting, but to be fair to everyone MP should be left with it. SB wouldn't work for these idiots anyway, new owners? Maybe, I would hope though he'd try somewhere new, he wants the PL, so he could wait for one of them, or maybe when the Newcastle job comes up again.
I would have him back tomorrow, the most successful manager in the club's history and a blooming good bloke as well.
I'd rather not. Phelan showed more attacking nous and desire to actually try and win a game than Bruce usually showed. WIth a decent squad Phelan could be a revelation.
Thanks but no thanks. It was refreshing to see the team playing without fear at the weekend and I do think that stemmed from Bruce's "Little Hull City" philosophy.
