Gorre is on loan at Northampton. He's looking forward to playing against Man. Utd., in the next round of the League Cup.

Taylor not traveling and playing for the 23's tonight I think. I agree with Amat his hands are all over players every time he tries to defend and is liable to give a pen away as you say. Having watched VDH in the highlights against Peterborough, he has the turning speed of the QE2. the centre paring is a big worry for me in that Leicester attack with pace and between the three Centre halve we have there isn't a yard between them. We could get battered in this game, I believe that Guidolin will revert to type and will play a very defensive side and try and hold out as he did in most of his games this year, Cant see us scoring and can see them scoring a few. Hope I am wrong, but after what I have seen so far this season a 3-0 to Leicester, if we are lucky.

We lost Williams , it will take us a bit to reboot a defensive pair of CB's .
We have an all new strike force , it too will take a bit to get them on track .
10 games before I even consider , one way or another, what we have good or bad .
I hope we sign another quality CB but if we don't I think Guidolin will mold a pair of regular starters from Fernandez , Amat and VDH .
I don't think we need another striker , midfielder , winger or defensive back .
Just ,possibly a CB if the right deal arises .

Individually they may be good enough, but everyone of them needs leadership something that is lacking in everyone of our back 4. I still believe we have the worst central pairing in the league at the moment, we haven't got time for them to mould we need to show it now and if they were good enough it would have happened by now. We cant afford to wait and see as we could be well adrift by January, we were hopeless last season at set pieces and it appears we are not much better this with our first conceded goal coming from a set piece. Will we ever learn. I am not convinced Guidolin is capable of sorting it, he had half a season, a pre season and we still make the same mistakes, it just isn't good enough. We have to sign a leader at the back, someone who will take control and guide the others because as it stands they are simply not a unit and I don't care how much time you give them they will still be rudderless. If we don't sign a quality defender, we are in trouble, we all moaned that we had no goal scorers I actually believe the situation at the back is worse as we are all over the place and defensively are appaling. Still now I have said all that we will probably keep a clean sheet against Leicester.

Roof I think we will have to agree to disagree on this one, what we have is just not good enough for the PL ok as cover but not starters as a pair, they will be with another quality Centre Half.

Time will tell ........I will say this , every season we've been up I've heard " We aren't good enough " , whether it's Strikers , midfielders or CB's , and 5 seasons later we've averaged 10th place and made money in the transfer market .
And even though Guidolin has had 16 games last season's and pre season , we've had our main CB and all our strikers leave and he's rebuilding and I just think we have a very expierenced manager to put it together .
If things aren't going well by Halloween , I'll agree we are in a bit of trouble , till then I disagree totally about how you preceive our chances .
2 games in we are track for 57 points and I think some are showing to much panic .

I have never until tis year though our squad wasn't good enough and I believe the main part of our squad is good enough this year. You are 100% right we have lost our best centre back, what have we done about it nothing as it stands, we can not carry on with the 3 we have they have been exposed in both games against 2 sides who everyone expects to finish in the bottom 3. we can not wait till Halloween mate it maybe to late. What I am saying is we can not go in to this season with the lack of quality and leadership we have as a Centre back pairing. Is it just another case of well lets make do. I am staggered that as a club we lose our Captian and leader and centre back, yet the club are no closer to trying to replace what he brought to us. Mind you I suppose it doesn't surprise me, it took us 2 months to buy a Centre forward. Time as you say is the one thing we don't have. Guidolin IMO and only that is in a situation where he cant win, he knows what he has isn't good enough yet he has to bow to HJ and hope that the local boy identifies another Centre half. I don't blame Guidolin, it is yet again our board dragging their feet. I think all around the pitch we look good apart fro our 2 centre backs who individually could do a job alongside another leader and good centre half, together they look like we have Popeye and Olive Oil playing ay centre half.

Nobody is in a panic - well most of us aren't. It's not as if it's the Titanic. <whistle> Halloween could be prophetic because if we don't get anyone in it may well be a horror show at the back.

I'm with TLF in that we need a quality, preferably experienced CB. Guidolin actually agrees with this and has said so but why have we done nothing to fill the glaring gap? Other positions would be a bonus to squad strengthening but that's the main requirement.

Fernandez and Amat are used to being led, with Williams marshalling them and telling them in no uncertain terms to get into position. We don't have that any more and it shows. Can those two step up and be the main pairing? Yes, anything's possible, but I doubt it. Van der Hoorn looks decent and is a good signing but isn't experienced enough yet and can't be expected to lead a back line.

This left me scratching my head though <yikes>

Nice interview with Dyer on the upcoming game. Squirming visibly when asked about why he went out on loan, poor bugger.
