what frightens me is the calibre of signings pretty much every other Premier League side is making. Hell, even Reading lower down have got Asamoah Gyan in on a season loan. My recurring nightmare about Gylfi getting injured on international duty isn't helping matters either!!!
And 30 Yr old striker on loan from shanghai who was on 227k per week. Spent the last 4 yrs in Abu Dhabi and China. Dogged by controversy and a player known to chase the cash. Hardly a good comparison of what we should be looking at.
it wasn;t a compasrison of who wee should be buying, it's an example of teams lower than us having more ambition. Gyan is a quality striker though, has scored goals in threee world cups, recors goal scorer in the Arican Cup of Nations, unsure how he’s dogged by controversy though, what’s he been up to?
How do you define having and in this case a lack of ambition ? , we've consistently since our arrival in the PL finished in a more than respectable mid table position , for a Club our size what else do you want , we're not ever going to compete ever off the field with the likes of Chelsea ,UTD, Citeh etc unless of course some rich Arab takes a shine to us .We have training facilities on par with the best a decent squad and a fan base which has kept pace with our growth, for some they've only known success but that comes at a price eventually .Just how far we've come as a Club then ask a cardiff fan how that worked out for them ,throwing money at overpriced players with an extended ground but half full and continually failing to make the grade .Clubs around our size have spent more than we can afford but are they any better ?
agree with what you're saying and this is the first ever transfer window which has left me worried. I do think we should have made more signings as I think we are currently too weak to stay up. Teams like Boro and Bournemouth have bought well in my opinion and I think we could be left behind. For the record I've been a Jack since early 90's, Terry Connor, Richey Appleby, Julian Allsop all childhood heroes so I do understand where your'e coming from.
You cant ignore the signs that have appeared over the last couple of seasons.....We scraped home last season with the help of other clubs but it dont change the fact that we were terrible for most of the season and you only have to look at the comments made last season to see that, This season have not been encouraging at all with very poor football that we have not changed one bit and we have been second best against 3 teams favourite for the drop. I would love it to be teething troubles but i dont think it is and think its the way guildo loves to play the game or the only way he knows how to play because in the 3 games so far there have been no inclination of a change......I hope he can see this and used this break to sort it out because if he doesn't it will be a long and arduous season that swans fans dont want.
