Dealt a crap hand Francesco without many friends in sight ....All ahead full players , your manager and the club need you because the board in general couldn't give a fuk about anyone but themselves ...as per usual of late.....Go Guidolin ...
What crap hand has he been dealt? He publicly said that he has no control over transfers. Any manager worth his salt wouldn't accept such conditions. Should have had more balls and told Huw to pull his head out of his backside or do a Steve Bruce and resign if not happy.
http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/fo...nsmann-Francesco-Guidolin-Premier-League-news I know it's the Star but still.....
Not sure if this question has been asked yet, but, all of those on here that saying he should be sacked asap do any of you have any suggestions for a replacement? As it stands, if the media are to be believed, Bradley and Giggs have been approached and reading this board no one wants either. So putting yourselves in the Boards position who is currently available that you would like to see here. Dont get me wrong I agree that Guido is struggling (although the fixture list has been a bit rough the football has not been great) but unless there is a clear alternative we will be no better off.
TBH I'm not convinced by Guidolin but I'm equally not convinced by the names we're linked with. So if that's the calibre of replacements were looking at I'd rather stick with Guidolin for a bit longer to see if he can progress upon the performance of last weekend. I wouldn't make a decision on the result the weekend but the performance of the team. IMO, it's been a very difficult start to the season based on the clubs we've had to play recently and really the only important points dropped were at home to Hull. I'm disgusted by Guidolin's treatment and think it reflects badly on the club.
I totally agree that Guidolin has been treated poorly. But keeping him would be for me the wrong thing, we have seen what Guidolin can do and to be honest I don't think it is very good, we have one half tidy performance and then we forget the dross we have been fed by his tactics. I agree that we don't know what any of the possible replacements will do, what we can gauge is what we are going to get from Guidolin. He got the job on 3 tidy performances last season. It may well be that whoever comes in whether we approve of the appointment or not could do well on the other hand it could be disastrous. I agree in terms of performance and not result. But we will be set up to draw 0-0 again and then have a go when we go behind and it is becoming all a bit of a struggle to watch. For me we need to freshen things up with new ideas and a different philosophy rather than being a totally negative side. I am fed up with the clubs '' Lets make do'' attitude.
[QUOTE="swan_and_only, "I'm disgusted by Guidolin's treatment and think it reflects badly on the club." I'm also disgusted at the witch hunt that currently grips this forum. From Laudrup, through Monk, and now Guidolin, the pattern continues ad nauseum. I want none of it, and keep away from the threads that target Guidolin and his possible/hoped for, dismissal. I wonder how the posters who are baying for his blood would feel if something similar were to happen to them at their workplace. Shameful behaviour.
I am backing Guido but then again I hoped Europe would come out of the blocks against the USA today but as I write USA going well - so what do I know!
I agree that his negative tactics are frustrating and I'd like to see us play a bit more positively. Although, I'm hoping that we've turned a corner and his tactics actually getting through to the players. I'm torn between getting a new manager in and sticking with Guidolin because I don't think we can attract the type of manager we need.
"I don't think we can attract the type of manager we need". There in lies the problem. There is no manager that can satisfy the demands of most football fans',especially many on here. It has to be instant success, whilst playing like Barcelona. Anything less within a matter of months, and the knives are out. Swansea has been blessed with some pretty good managers in recent years, yet how many are remembered with affection and treated with respect after they have moved on? Answers on the edge of a postage stamp, since you won't need much space for replies. If I were a top manager, I would do due diligence on this Club, and give it a very wide berth.
Its amazing to me that a lot of people use the argument about a manager not standing up to the chairman and walk briskly by the problem itself , which is the chairman and board themselves . its also amazing that some give it to the chairman about not bringing in players they want without addressing the real problem which is managers and players don't want to come to the club because they way its is run by the chairman and board .
I totally agree, I'd like to see how Guidolin preforms against teams that are around us before we make any hasty decisions. Although, the Hull & Southampton games were extremely disappointing. I think if he does go soon I'd feel indifferent but would like to see the club give him a chance until December.
Why should Guildo have special preferential treatment from anyone.....He has been rubbish all season and every clubs manager gets the treatment if results are not going well........We have played some top clubs yes....but we have beaten these clubs too and the two games against Burnley and Hull were dreadful and they are favourites for relegation ffs.........I mean what is this new thing of showing respect rubbish.......We never showed any respect to some of our players like Taylor for example and shelvey. Monk,Martinez,Brendan and a lot more others......Why all of a sudden should our worst ever manager be protected....
Earned ???? what bull crap......You are either good, adequate or useless........Results shows he is useless........
You are even more fixated on Guidolin than you were with Laudrup. When I use the word RESPECT I am not necessarily talking about any one individual.
