To cheer myself up in this very depressing (so-far) season I have just voted in the all-time Town Eleven. I went for Ogrizovic King Lynch Durban Pearson McLaren Davies Atkins Wood Griffiths Maguire (I was very sad to leave out Micky Brown and Lynch is a sentimental pick). That is a team I wish we had now!
Likewise Mulhearn King Lynch Turner Maloney MacLaren Irvine McNally Wood Rowley Whitaker Old enough to remember super cool Joe Maloney and Colin Whitaker who regularly ran from the half way line, beating men and slotting home.
Interesting team, KDS. I never saw Whitaker or Maloney play and only saw Rowley play once just before he retired. In addition to the initial brief I would have Turner as Manager and Steve Cross as the supersub. I thought it was also a shame that John Mcginlay did not qualify under the rules as he was class.
