I think Saturday will be Slade's final game if we lose. Our away support this season has been far more rowdy and he will get slaughtered. The problem with Slade is that he is again delivering what he has delivered throughout his whole managerial career - mediocrity.
Slade's comments - “Sick,” was how Slade described his feelings at full time. “Absolutely sick. But of course the fans will think that was my fault. They were quite vocal in making that point. My fault that we missed maybe six or seven opportunities. My fault that I gave the penalty. “They’re entitled to their opinion. Everybody’s entitled to their opinion, doesn’t mean I agree with it.”
He is starting to sound like a man who knows he is on borrowed time #SladeOut Especially as his main supporter has gone missing 'dahn ar gaff' this season and hasn't posted on ere all week!
Very poor, muggy interview. Defensive and peevish. I know nothing is his fault by why is our best striker by a country mile - Lookman - taking corners and consistently taking them very badly ?? Just another example of Slade's rank putrid management. It could turn ugly on Saturday
Slade getting Lookman to take corners is similar to Woy getting Kane to take them last summer ...... that cost Woy his job here's hoping
Just doing some quick analysis of our results on the train (nice break from work), so far this season we have squandered 9 points from winning positions. It seemed to go wrong for Slade (and Charlton) around the AFC Wimbledon match where we have consistently squandered the lead. Out of those seven games four we have surrendered the lead. Conversely, our opening games is where we picked up points from losing positions, although it is only one game have we been able to turn our fortune around for the win this season. The sad thing is, that with the exception of Bolton (and taking into consideration draws that would come from teams setting up that way to frustrate the larger team), we should have won between 8 out of our current 13 giving us a approx. achievable 24 points, a stretch for top three at the moment. If you add the 9 points we've squandered our tally equals around 24. We've also not played the bigger team too (Sheffield United), it will be interesting to see how we will fair up against the most in form team in the league. Needless to say Slade is woefully underperforming. He can say when he likes about the fans, etc., but at the end of the day, math don't lie.
If Slade gets sacked on Saturday, (and I don't think he will but here's hoping) it could be the beginning of the end for Roland. One more throw of the dice maybe, but Slade would be entitled to a large payoff, which would hurt Roland, and he'd have to pay the wages of the new stooge. He can't be happy paying the wages of Tex and Botaka, whom Slade refuses to use, and it seems Ajose is now in the doghouse as well.
Apparently the 250 away supporters really let Slade have it . We had the game in the bag and he messed up with substitutions .His responsibility.
I will be there on Saturday, 2000 very vociferous fans fully expecting three points- Gills are hopelessly out of form atm. Looking forward to it
Gills aren't the side I thought they would be this season, but still think their team can hurt us. Looking forward to seeing a few familiar faces up there. Will try and get the gossip.
