He's not been frozen out.. He's getting the odd start and the odd sub appearance. But, given the way the front 3 are playing and given they do what Klopp wants, and, more damning, the fact that we were more potent in the 20mins Lallana came on for him against Utd sums up it really, on current form, we're a better team without him. At 27, nearly 28, does he have the ability to change and become the Gegenpressing focal point Klopp wants (Do what Firmino does..), I think not. On form is he the best finisher we have, yes.. Do we want to sell, unlikely Does he want to go, maybe I think he will leave but he'll go in the Summer.. Only way he goes in Jan is if we have someone lined up that's just as good as him, if not better to replace him and that type of quality doesn't come cheap!
Why would Sturridge jump ship of a title winning team. He'll win the CL next season with us then be sold.
In the end (and Klopp's most likely 5 steps ahead of us all, well he better be, what are we paying him for if not!!). he doesn't fit Klopp's system, he'll be kept to play the backup roll until Summer and then we'll mutually agree to move on. Only way he goes in Jan is.. - If someone offers silly money for him. - We can get a replacement in. In previous discussions with MITO, we both think that Origi may get the nod ahead of Studge to play the Mane role when he's on ACoN duty, ticks more of the boxes for Klopp..
He won't be with us this time next year. I can't see us holding on to him or him wanting to stay. He's got too big an ego to stay.
How long will Origi stay with his current involvement? One criticism of Klopp is the lateness of substitutions sometimes
Origi is young at a title contending team, and I believe Klopp invests a lot into him. So I reckon he will be happy here. Remember we have no Europe this season, so less games to go around.
Origi should take a look in the mirror before taking up any thoughts of seeking first team football elsewhere. He's not exactly pulling up trees when he does play. And I'm talking about anything but effort here.
Aye I know that. Thinking for the summer. He's 21 (22 by summer). Needs to be playing regular if he wants to be a top player. Certainly has potential. Think we should be giving him more time rather than injury time 0-0 away to Saints etc...
So S. McQueen planning a great escape from Soton to join us too along with Van Dick. Any thoughts on McQueen?
Liverpool are reportedly considering using Daniel Sturridge as bait in a deal to sign two Southampton stars. The striker is out of favour at Anfield and Jurgen Klopp could sanction his departure in a bid to land a pair of key transfer targets. Liverpool want to sign defender Virgil van Dijk, 25, and winger Sam Mcqueen, 21, from the South Coast club.
