Only thing I heard about Karius was when he was hesitant off his line and then saved from pienaer. Media talked like it was really bad decision not to come but from watching the ball bounded just inside the area, so not sure he should have been rushing out after that. Did well to save from the shot and was quick to get down and save at feet of Watmore after he took heavy touch.

Only saw highlights so didnt didn't see much else from him as Sunderland barely threatened though.

It's the media narrative now - Karius is clumsy and under pressure. Every thing he does will be under scrutiny.

Jurgen Klopp remains optimistic about Coutinho's injury, he even hoped him to be back in training.

I think the technical ability and mentality to be decisive is evident in Karius. He needs experience, confidence and stability in front of him to improve his decision making.

Mignolet has never been able to improve meaningfully/consistently on the mentality he arrived with. You look at the best GKs like De Gea and Lloris and their decision making is superb - they want to manage every situation and very quickly work out their best option. They want to be involved but are able to choose when to stay/go out etc. Both took time to reach this point.

Not sure what the problem with Klopp and the crowd is. It's natural for a crowd to get anxious or frustrated. It's a good thing that the manager wants to improve the connection between fans and players. Lets face it, top level football in England is usually pretty pedestrian for atmosphere unless it's a dramatic game.

Very pleased for Origi to get the nod after Coutinho's injury and hopefully this signals a run of form beginning. He should get 60 minutes or so against Leeds with Sturridge. A striker entering form now could carry us into the Christmas fixtures nicely.

Even though he put the ball out and safe, exactly what they'd say he should do when Bravo passed to an opponent in the same situation and they scored

Liverpool could be without Coutinho until the new year amid fears he has suffered ligament damage. #lfc (Echo)

Lloris passed the ball diretly to a Chelsea player from a goal kick yesterday... ended in a shot and nearly s goal. Anything made of it? Nope.

Karius us went to pass to play and put it out for corner, yes it was bad but is it worse than giving an opposition player a free shot at goal 20 yards out?

    Is Karius a lucky Keeper?

I always thought Casillas was the luckiest guy I ever saw. he'd play it out and it'd miss everyone, the valley would hit off him rather than him save it. but in the end he had a huge legendary career.

Karius managed somehow to concede a corner from a goal kick for chuffs sake. somehow the errors he's made have meant nothing so far and he's block balls.... is he just a lucky guy.

I did compare to casillas so it should be taken as a slight compliment. better to be lucky than good.

If anyone remembers chris kirkland. he was the unluckiest guy i ever saw.. . just had everything go against him really.

Yeah, I really rated Kirkland. Strachan said he was the new Shilton. He had wrists like Dresden china though.

    Yup.

Broke a finger. his back. another finger.... he just was never fit but he was massively tall. i think he just hadnt got that attitude you need to push through.

Does anyone else not think Casillas had that lucky type of look to him? hed make blocks with any part of his body, the ball would go anywhere but not fall to an opponent.

How he got 100 spanish caps and won everything from how he started is amazing really.

Its not luck, he knows exactly what he's doing. Been one of the best keepers of the last fifteen years and will go down as one of the best keepers of all time, and rightly so.

    Better to be lucky.

I think the more lucky you get the more the press change their tune.

Look at mourinho now. the press in 2004 onwards created a could do no wrong legend even as he carried on and acted like a brat. this time round he can do no right and refs like today are on his case.

If karius continues to save stuff through any means the press will soon turn round.

The lads no dropped one in... quite how i have no idea

Every keeper gets lucky from time to time. To say he is consistently lucky is wrong though, in my opinion.

It's similar to Suarez and his dribbling when people say he's so lucky that the ball almost always bounces his way in 50/50 challenges. It isn't luck, he knows exactly where to position himself in relation to the ball and the opponent so that more often than not the ball bounces his way.

Remember all those pens for handball we got when he kept playing the ball into the ground when one on one with a defender?

    Genius!
