Just noticed that Moussa Dembélé (Celtic) and Mousa Dembélé (Spurs) both played for Fulham before their current clubs.
Liverpool are preparing a January transfer bid for 20-year-old Celtic forward Moussa Dembele, which could be worth up to £20m. (Glasgow Live) Southampton are resigned to losing defenders Virgil van Dijk, 25, and Jose Fonte, 32, to Liverpool and Manchester United respectively.
Dembele would be more like £10m plus add ons. Although the NI native in me doesn't want to give Celtic that kind of money... he is #goodonfifa Not sure why we'd buy a first team CB in January or why that would be Van Dijk. Not entirely sold on him defensively. There are good, cheaper options abroad.
Fonte rumor doesn't surprise me. Established PL defender and doesn't need developing...typical Jose signing that.
southampton got forester, wanyama, van dijk out of there. in other words celtic get ****e all money and Southampton get players who've shown at least something at european level. It will be entirely down to hwat he's done in CL this year is anyone bids on him.
VvD is one of the better defenders in the league, will no doubt make us stronger.. The "only" way I can see us prizing him away from Southampton is if we dangle Daniel Sturridge infront of them. However, agree with Yoda, surely there's cheaper options abroad, which would also allow us to keep Sturridge? We're not exactly full to the brim up top and to lose someone of his talents will be a big blow, esp. if we don't get a replacement in!
http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...nt-alexander-arnold-ovie-ejaria-a7448336.html an interesting tale of woe here. How LFC ruined its own academy in 2006 and 2007 (under rafa falling out with heighway) and how wenger falling out with bould lost their much vaunted academy. Its amazing to see how everyone must pull together to make it work
Liverpool have been warned off pursuing Borussia Dortmund's Christian Pulisic by the Bundesliga club's sporting director, Michael Zorc. MailOnline's Simon Jones recently reported that Liverpool were considering stepping up their pursuit of Pulisic following Philippe Coutinho's injury, with BVB only open to bids of around £25 million. However, Zorc has now told Liverpool there is no point them even attempting to bid for the 18-year-old American star, per Bild (via ESPN FC's Stephan Uersfeld): "It's not worth the effort for Liverpool http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...ours-on-christian-pulisic-and-virgil-van-dijk
Could be read in a number of ways.. 1 - He actually means what he says, or 2 - We've heard about the 25m bid, its interesting but we want more..
Interesting that they praise Citeh for spending alot of money at the youth setup (more chucking money at the problem at Citeh?), but when was the last time a young British player come through there. Also Citeh has become a bit of a grave yard for emerging English players from other clubs.
Wtf has LFC and Celtic possibly doing a deal for player got to do with NI politics, plus its LFC's money Yoda not the cash box down at the local orange hall.
There's half a chance under guardiola. However yes they have invested in vanity. the buildings that have cost 200million. (more than a stadium for most teams) this includes their own "stadium" with 7k capacity (which can be expanded) which of course is more than many league 2 sides and rubgy league and union tesm have please log in to view this image http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-numbers-200m-8-1m-litre-water-tank-more.html however quite often it is difficult to find exactly how many mancs attend this facility however at a recent uefa youth league match Barca beat their "elite development squad" 2-0 in front of 1,190 fans they spend a vast amount on young players too of course but don't we all. We must all remember that this eithad stadium was gifted to man city who were then bought out as a result. the land aorund the statium all 200 acres were handed to them too. This vanity came from tax payers money.
On the contrary, he would love to be the big fish in a small pond. I think he misses being a star. He doesn't want to be one of the team, he wants to be the star.
could be. I think he'd fit the michael owen model now.. just turn up for england and be the star... in his head. pity kane is about eh.
