Fair point Alderley, not doubting that at all, it was more the fashion and timing of what he said, and I could hear his voice. It just seemed so not like Geraghty. It made me laugh that's all!
It would also make sense to announce these plans for a site on which this development could be sited. However the Bond Street site isn't big enough to fit the existing ice area on. A simple fact over looked by Geraghty before he went running to the media with this exclusive. The man is a liability.
He was questioned on RH by Andy Comfort tonight about it and Geraghty simply side footed the issue by claiming 'they' had several sites in mind. But the announcement today was for the Edwin Davies site, even talk of a compulsory purchase order on the building. And it's not big enough! This is back-of-a cigarette-packet politics. Proof that he has no plans at all for this bomb site. He must have come up with idea whilst sat in Rampant Horse one night whilst trying to impress the locals. Is there an election coming up by any chance?
Still there at the moment ben. It'll be the next tax year and the election results when the cuts will happen. The staff are all having to sign over to this new company thats going to run all the leisure services. Sign or resign.
Does that mean it comes out of TG's remit? I'm sure the Unions are on it but if they're been TUPE'd over to a new company their T&Cs can't be changed for the worse, apart from their pensions (which is probably the most important one).
TG is going to be running it I'm pretty sure. Maybe wrong mind. Its called Hull Culture and Leisure Ltd. Leisure Heritage catering parks libraries sports development and identified corporate resources are transferring to this new arms length company. It starts April 1st. The new company have informed the council that they intend to change some policies and processes that will transfer to them. The council have asked but as yet not received the information of what they are.
This is everyday technology in the Renewables world; It might well seem amusing, but is a very practical design principle.
Terry Geraghty on RH last night, it starts a 2.37, but from 2.40 you can listen to him reacting to being told that you couldn't even get the current ice arena on the proposed site, never mind an Olympic sized pool. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02k4csv#auto
Oh my god. We're in the preeemier league apparently. It wont fit there. Oh well we 'll leave the ice arena where it is and put the pool there!!! FFS Tel think of the back of your fridge.
He's up for re-election on May 7th, he's just getting himself some airtime. Not that he needs it, a house brick could win that seat as long as it was Labour.
He gets voted in everytime by the same group of people, a much bigger group of people could vote him out. However this big group just don't bother voting they sit at home ignoring the election and then go round saying who voted this clown in. Stop being apathetic and get him voted out.
Presumably, the arms length company won't buy the land, but enter into some sort of partnership with the Council? It's quite ironic, especially given Geraghty's ridiculing of someone with a better business record offering a similar proposal for a similar scheme a while back. Maybe Terry could show us the plans he's had drawn up?
