Sell him for the £25 million, Amat can step up and we can buy back Bony :)

Very good move by the club to make this public, as this now will have killed CP/other clubs interest in Ash.

Ash is a great player but £25m is taking the piss.....<laugh> We could put a quid on his head and we still wouldn't sell him and ash would not want to go anyway.....He has matured every season since he joined the club and would not be so good anywhere else...

Man City paid £32 million for that Mangala bloke and PSG paid £50 million for David Luiz Dai.

So you think palace would pay us £25m Man city have a limitless pot and pay stupid money for players they wont use much.....It would be nice but you would have to be off your trolley and a mug to pay that for Ash when he was valued at £6 - £8m last season.....He may be priceless for us but never £25m to anyone else at this stage of his career...

IF the Club could sell him for 25 million you think they wouldn't ? and I'm sure Ash wouldn't baulk at the idea of a large payout , who wouldn't .The Club's valuation is just that , a valuation on his ability and the remaining years left on his contract .

The club don't really think Ash is worth £25 mill. They have put that valuation on him just to stop interest as they know no one is going to pay that for a 31yr old. Last year and up until 3 days ago he was valued at £12 mill by the club, hence Palace were thought to have offered £10 mill. It is just tactics. It shows Ash (as if he didn't already know) how much of an integral part of the club that he is.

If Ash was sold, how much do you think we would have to spend to get a like for like replacement then ?

Nothing, we already have Amat <ok>

But you'd be looking at around 8-15 million.

Yeah no more than £8 - £10m max at his age if that.....He is worth more than that to us as he is use to the club but anywhere else he would not be as good and just be another player......He is not stupid he knows where he belongs and he have seen many of his team mates not reaching a better level than he is at......He will see bony not getting as many games as first thought this season and most of them will be off the bench. I think ash will finish his career with us tbh..

Around £15 million depending on who it is. That said Jose Fonte is only valued at £3mill, Branislav Ivanovic is £12 mill,Jan Vertonghen is £13 mill, Laurent Koscielny and Gary Cahill are £14 million Cesar Azpilicueta is £16 million right up to Kompany at £21 million. There is such a wide range of prices for central defenders it is hard to say. But all of the above are between 25 and 32 years old and established top 10 Premier League centre backs.
