Premier League to cap cost of tickets for away fans at £30 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35764007 Liverpool fans lead the way again, you're welcome PL. TBF Everton have also pushed hard on this.
Arsenal's new away section refreshment list should be interesting. Pie £10 Burger £12 Wash them down with a £20 can of coca cola.
The fans did....just a shame our owners didn't. Considering they seemed so keen on PR this was another almighty balls up. They could have lead the way for all the right reasons on this one. Instead they made headlines for all the wrong reasons. Serves them right. Finally the league and clubs have seen sense but I'm not sure why there was the resistance in the first place other than utter, short-term greed.
The fact that they couldn't see it is what grates with me. They missed (or ignored) what fans across the country have been saying for a good few years. Yes we gave the whole league a massive wake up call by walking out en masse....but it's just a shame we were having to battle our own in the first place. It's a shame that after five and a half years of ownership FSG have got no closer to understanding Liverpool (as a fan base or as a city). Let's just hope JK can help them build some bridges because he must have been cringing when he saw the animosity between fans and owners. Maybe he will have the wisdom we've lacked for so long.
I think in hindsight the fact that for 9 months they were told and then came back with the same match classifications system and higher prices is telling. Klopp knows what german fans like thats for sure but i dunno about anything else. Ayre has cealry alienated himself from the average punter with his boats and ho's attitude.
And Everton were the only club to initially back a cap in away fan ticket prices. The other 19 sat on their hands http://www.dailypost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/how-everton-fc-only-side-10845766
Yes which is why I gave Everton credit in the post your just quoted But the plans were rejected, until Liverpool fans forced the issue
So why didn't the club vote with Everton execs in favour of caps. Plus it's AWAY fans prices, not home fans.....the Liverpool walkout was regarding HOME ticket prices Unless Liverpool arranged an AWAY fan walkout?
Because our club was acting like a prick until the protest After the protest the league got scared and decided they had to bend a little rather than break under similar protests
The original vote took place AFTER the walkout at Anfield over HOME ticket prices. The FSF work has been about trying to cap AWAY prices at £20. The original vote to cap at £30 was backed only by Everton....weeks after the walkout at Anfield over HOME ticket prices.**Liverpool maybe accept it. In the original vote 7/8 clubs voted against a cap. 14 is the number of teams backing it need to be inforced. Are you certain all clubs backed the cap?
