Complete speculation of course but you are linked with a £50 million move for Raheem Sterling. Would you be happy with the signing? Would you be happy with that transfer fee? How would he fit into your team?
Not worth it, no I would not want him, to inconsistent. http://metro.co.uk/2015/04/04/manch...ansfer-of-liverpools-raheem-sterling-5134730/
He's only turned 20, but of course he's not as consistent or as good as Januzaj I agree though, 50m is a bit much, I think between 30m and 40m at most but even then the club just will not sell to you lot anyway so it doesn't matter.
We both know you are dreaming, sure you paid almost that much for Frank Spencer.. I mean Jones £20m won't even get you an expired turkey sandwich at Stamford Bridge these days
Question for you Gonzo and other Liverpool fans. If you had £30-£40m would you spend it on buying Sterling?? That's the way I see it. Sterling is going to go on to be a quality player but personally, that kind of money can be better spent elsewhere. It wont happen anyway, Liverpool wont sell to us and I really hope we arent going for him.
Just bcos you make a mistake on one player...cough Shevchenko cough...doesnt mean you do it again...cough...Torres...cough
Sterling is one of the most overrated players in the premiership. The classical big fish in a small pond syndrome. If he were playing for a big club he would be anonymous and hardly able to create that sort of **** he is currently doing. He would just be a squad player for us and LVG already has better players in his position. Brenda played him as striker for a few matches and he was only a relative success because their strikers are so ****. He wouldn't be worth £20m and as for £100k/week this is a ****ing joke
True 30-40m is a lot for him now and yet it is not worth it for the club to accept say 30m and possibly watch his worth drastically increase within a year at another PL club. This is why at least we should not accept any offers this summer. There are excellent players out there who were not as good as Sterling at 18-19 though in saying that there are many players who were good at 19-20 that never quite turned out to be the player we all thought they would be. Rooney for example, at 17 I thought this is one of the next great players of his generation. He never quite hit the heights we all expected him to.
Why is a good question, imo develop your own for the quota and buy from abroad, financially it makes sense. Look at the money forked out by Liverpool, Arsenal and Utd on English players, silly imo we should all have looked elsewhere.
Transfer fees are the way they are because of the money in the PL. Every time competition money and TV deal money goes up transfer fees and wages go up too for many players. A relegated PL team gets twice what the german champions get. Cardiff got 60m, Bayern got 30m Money is != to quality, I think the also rans of Spain and Germany are beter than PL also rans and the money these German and Spanish teams operate on is a lot less than the running costs of your average PL also ran/. A Spanish Jordan Henderson goes for 8 or 10m but 18m in the PL
I think that'll be the outcome, until then though he'll be linked to every club under the sun for stupid sums of money.
Seemed to pay off for ye doing that with Rooney when he kicked up a fuss, though Sterling's agent has his eyes on a bit more than 100k, probably 180k. He can **** off like, one half of a good season so far in his lfc career.
