Sorry but we are a club in crisis not a laughing stock. A catch for a smart investor with some football nous. Most of the football world look at our drop with trepidation imo.
If we can keep hold of Coleman and attract a decent investor then i can see a good future, regardless of if we somehow manage to avoid relegation or we drop into league 1. Massive rebuild needed but with our youth players we've got something to work with
We're going down to League 1 but we're going to cost the price of a PL club to pay off the debt. We're a long term investment. Still can't imagine anyone being interested tbh mate.
I'm inclined to agree with you but look what happened to Glasgow Rangers. They back in the SPL now, not the force they were but it will take time. Maybe we can come back from league 1
We're not the second biggest club in the country like Rangers are mate. It was only a matter of time before Rangers were back where they belong. My concern is that there are cheaper clubs in the PL or Championship out there already than we are for free.
But how many of them have our infrastructure and potential ? Sure we're not the 2bd biggest club in England but we're a lot better long term investment than the majority of clubs which would be cheaper than us
Being the eternal pessimist we have no guarantee that if we attract another owner they turn out to be any better than Short. Other clubs such as Cardiff and Hull must be regretting the day their owner walked through the door. We as supporters just have to wait and hope and currently its the hope that kills you. Sorry to be so glum about it all.
Fourth best attendance in the league isn't bad considering the horror show this season's been. Improve results and it'd go up sharpish.
I think a smart football savvy business will be able to bring the stability which will take us meaningfully forward but we have needed that all my years following the lads and it has always failed Here's hoping as always but we are not a laughing stock as LG (emotionally) posted
But isn't gate money just a fraction of what TV pays? It would at 2 years before you'd see an increase in significant revenue. I don't know mate. I'm not exactly being objective about our situation right now.
Yeah it falls short of tv money I'm just saying it's a legitimate plus point you'd make to investors that the club is well supported and there's steady money coming in from gates. Compared to the teams around us I mean if an investor was looking at us or Burton then our gates would be a positive.
You're wrong though mate. We are a laughing stock right now. That doesn't mean we're not a potential investment. The two aren't diametric opposites.
I mentioned the Fulwell73 syndicate earlier mate. I'm just wondering if they're having second thoughts right now. Grasping at small straws here
