That's a hell of an expensive hit. Maybe Mutu can bail him out.

It certainly does not look like he is on the clubs Christmas card list.

He won't have 8 mill so we are not going to get that much. Perhaps we can get a bit now and some in future earnings if he is able to get another club after his suspension lifts.

Seems strange the club would want to get compensation from him when he hasn't been banned or the scenario hasn't been concluded yet.

He can always flog his Lambo. We'll take that as a deposit - the rest he can pay in instalments from his paper round or job at McDonalds.

Can it be attached to future earnings though? I hope so.

I'm still not sure what to do about Livermore. I can see the clubs point but maybe supporting him and getting him to sign a contract with us for 4-5 years on a cheap wage may be better. Show him some loyalty and expect it back off him?

My thoughts too, until he gets the final decision from the FA how can he be held to account?

I'll be totally honest, I am all for rehabilitation and second chances, but I have a 5 year old son who is really getting into his Football at the moment. I'd rather not have drug taking role models at the club I'm encouraging (brain washing) him to support. I may have felt differently if I didn't have children.

Ye I get that. Good moral story for him though. You do wrong you get punished. He'll definitely play again after a 2 year ban. Why not with us?

Just for the reasons outlined. Plus he was dreadful last season anyway. I think it's in the best interests of the club and player to part company. If we can get compensation then that's ok too.

It may well be rubbish and most probably is, but I heard his B sample was negative. What happens if it is?

Just heard it from an unreliable source. It's all gone quiet, is he off to Portugal?

It 's all in the hands of the solicitors, so we're just going to have to wait a while. Quite a while I fear.
