Man Utd are supposed to be a European club. They're spending £30m on a defender who's played 8 European games and been sent off in one of them. He's also only played 40 top flight games in his career. Those are facts, and that they suit me is just a bonus.

 

Repeated how? Villareal boasted one of the best defences this season with him at the heart of it. The money is excessively high but when Man u come for a 22 year old good defender you have to pay that sort of money.

It's not like we paid 18 million for a bench player at PSG....

in fairness yes. ferdinand fee was in 2002 so at the time the world record was zidane for 46mil or something

as the world record is bale for 86mil 3 years ago now we could reasonable assume the next record could be close to 100mil.

in that case rio would have had to have been the equivalent of 60mil.

this of course makes bailly look a positive bargain ... if he's as good as ferdinand as asserted by the plastic mancs..
