Bevis Mugabe has been nominated for the 2016 Name of the Year. I'm literally giddy with excitement. http://deadspin.com/presenting-the-2016-name-of-the-year-bracket-1765009896

Could Bevis join past luminaries like Amanda Miranda Panda and Tokyo Sexwale? Admittedly he faces arguably the toughest competition in the notorious Crotchtangle Regional, however his status as number 2 seed should see him through to the final 16 where he likely faces an extremely difficult tie against Sweet Orifice. Elsewhere in the draw there are likely some knock-down drag out wars pending in the Dragonwagon Regional where Lt. Charlene Sprinkle-Huff and Dr. Shark Bird are heavy hitters amongst other promising underdogs like IV Seacat.

For those uninitiated, the name of the year has been going for a long time, started as an alternative to NCAA March Madness. All names are researched and verified beforehand and they have previously disqualified candidates if they have found evidence of nicknames.

Olufela Olomola, Siph Mdlalose, and Dan N'Lundulu just a few of gems in our Under 18 squad.

Someone told me today that Robert Mugabe backwards was Ebagum Trebor.

Didn't get any work done after that.

If he's genuinely up for this award they (and you) could at least spell his name properly. It's Mugabi.

As a long-time connesseiur of the NOTY contest, he's definitely in a sneaky-tough bracket. The top half is fairly weak, but to get there he has a couple difficult matchups.. Mighty Fine will be a tough out, and Sweet Orefice is a threat to go all the way. The seeds generally don't speak to much...the judges and voters have different tastes. The former prefer alliteration and sheer crush of syllables, the latter names that sound like references to naughty bits.

My guesses for the Final Four:

    Bulltron regional: Tillman Buttersack.
Dragonwagon regional: Dr. Shark Bird. Taco Pope might be more of a threat if not for the win by Dr. Taco BM Monster a couple years back.
Sithole regional: Looks wide open. An upset for the exceptionally juvenile Dick Tips could be on the cards if the Pope vote gets split between Messers. Taco and McCorkle III.
    Crotchtangle regional: Sweet Orefice.

Is there a betting market for this? Might be tempted by a small e/w on Cosmo Bjorkenheim if the price is right.

    Some magnificent handles in there.

We're all getting older, Beddy. But like you I do not have a clue where we are on this thread. Could someone Google Translate any of this? How can anyone check that this shouldn't be in Koeman's Corner?

Edit: Now looked it up, and it is deffo off topic, surely?

Yes, I agree. I'll close the thread but not delete it, so people can still view it. I can't see the point of adding further comments though.

I still don't really know what this is about, and I'm not that inclined to find out either. Someone can explain it to me.
