yeah you need to get those two through. any youth game I've seen those two absolutely stand out head and shoulder over anyone on our two teams tbh. mind you we did push taa straight past that level

Europa Cup Final. Should Cech play? Interesting dilemma for Arsenal. Apparently Cech has accepted an offer of a DOF post at Chelsea for next season. Huge job which CL participation will make a difference to. But (assuming that the story is true) should he play in the final against his new/ex employers? A poor result for Arsenal will mean a good one for Chelsea and vice versa. No doubt he'll do his best as a model professional but would you play a key player when a poor result has such a key effect on his future role?
let me run this Utd transfer committee through my translation algorithm. ed Woodward doesn't rate ogs even though he appointed him. he has no clue what a technical director will do and wants to decide on transfers himself.
No, he's their second choice keeper and their first choice is available. No room for sentiment in football.
just hope for everyones sake their doesn't come a scenario where he will have to come on or play. i know we all say professionalism etc, but i have seen before someone going somewhere else and not committed to current employer, cant remember who it was though was ****ing unprofessional. probably chelsea as well
Bill Shankly just like your very own Baconface was a journeyman manager, just switch Queen of the South, St Mirrren, Aberdeen with Grimsby, Workington and Huddersfield. It just took a few years before both managers got a plum job. Very few do at a young age. Pep Guardiola (Barcelona) and Sir Kenny Dalglish (Liverpool). These are exceptions because they were ex players mentored by an ex manager. Pep was mentored by Johan Cruyff and Sir Kenny by Bob Paisley.
With respect Ferguson's record at aberdeen was "stellar" for where he was and his successes got him noticed With respect to shankly... journey man is insulting when he improved every team he got a job at. carlise as a team he used to play for gave him a shot and he imporved them massively, at grimsby he took a side relegated twice and turned them round but the board wouldn't back him so he resigned on principle... he had finished 2nd in div 3 north which in those days meant you didn't get promoted so he wanted a couple players to improve the age profile of team. I don't see journeyman here. He took on worthington then and saved them for relegation out of league and stabilised them. he then left them to go to huddersfield as a reserve coach and btw... he coached dennis law. he again left huddersfield having taken over as their manager and keeping them up despite the board selling his players and joined us. It is perhaps no surprise he regularly threatened LFC with the i'm off if they didn't give what was wanted. Frankly....... If you improve the lot of everywhere you go is it right to tarnish a man with the tag journeyman... for me thats a person who just does "ok" but never stellar all through their career. Feruson is same. he got st mirren promoted and transformed the club. they were ungrateful and sacked him (morons) he went to aberdeen and broke the old firm dominance and won 3 leagues, 5 scottish cups and most of all the cup winnners cup..... so.... no baconface was not a journeyman of any sort.
When I said 'Journeyman' I meant they had numerous smaller jobs prior to getting the big job. Rafa Benitez was a journeyman at Extramedura, Valladolid, Tenerife, Valencia before becoming Liverpool manager. He improved all of those and just like Baconface and Shanks earned the plum job.
I'd consider that a career progression myself but that's just how we interpret phrases. for me a journeyman is someone who'd never made it and is at the plateau of his career or even headed down. people not born with a silver spoon in their mouth have to progress like this, unlike the zidanes and guardiolas who are handed it due to their former lives. In many ways gerrard trying a job outside LFC is "admirable" but perhaps ill advised where he went. Lampard took a BIG risk going to derby. It could still go wrong. you've got to work long and hard but take the right job at the right time... and avoid the knocks. Stay too long and one is inevitable. In many ways mourinho is a perfect example of a man who took this approach. as he jumped ship a couple times... in many ways actually his time at real madrid was his over the peak moment as he probably stayed a season too long
perfect example came to mind just now. Robbie savage is the perfect example of a journeyman pro. Joey barton. many clubs... never at the top.
That's just #history What's your next game? Some publicity stunts in China then losing the Community Shield?
Not allowed to talk about history remember China lol. Another country with ****ed up human rights violations!!!
