Looks like we could be in luck this season Bolton already 12pts deducted & looks like Bury are going the same away.
Depends how good they are. It's only like a losing run of 4. I remember one team starting off on minus something and I think, without the points deduction, would have been promoted. Can't remember the team, just the situation
Surely the fist game against Bolton is in jeapody now with the fiasco going on at bolton, players and staff not being paid for nearly 5 months is clearly not good for the club's image and the players refusing to play until they get paid I can't really blame them.if it's not sorted out by August 3rd do we get the 3 points or will Bolton just be kicked out of the league altogether and every other team in the division just play 2 games less over the season.
Good question Rocky. I have no idea. At the moment the table is looking pretty rosey for us with both Bolton and bury on minus 12.
If they turn up with at least 7 players, the match can start. If at some stage in the match they become unable to field at least 7 players they forfeit the game 3-0 or whatever the score was at the time of forfeit if the goal difference was more than 3. If they can't field at least 7 players they forfeit the game 3-0. If they get kicked out I'm not sure what happens because they may have beaten some teams before being kicked out. I suppose the fairest thing would be to just adjust the points and goals scored and conceded for teams that have already played against the team leaving the League (ie as if the whole season was played without the team's participation)
The Bolton issue, as far as I know nothing has happened so far over them failing to fulfill the last fixture of last season.
Brentford were awarded a 1-0 win Apparently each League can decide the score of a forfeited match so it isn't always 3-0
If bolton can't guarantee to fulfill all their fixtures surely the football league will expel them from league football altogether which would be a shame for their fans players and staff.I think it's about time those in power take charge of the situation now and sort it out.
I would have thought there would have been a fine (which would be a waste of time) or another pts deduction. Otherwise what's to stop another club thinking along the lines we could lose our last game 3-0 or 4-0 & get relegated where as if we don't play we only lose 1-0. Unlikely I know but stranger things have happened in football.
Bury have owners who found the finances were a bigger mess than they thought, I think I read somewhere they took over at Christmas, Bolton hav'nt even got owners as yet.
Gordon Taylor of the PFA has been on Sky Sports yesterday saying Bolton were doubtful for the start of the season
That's what I was thinking,it makes it awkward for the season ahead because one team won't have a game on a Saturday if bolton get thrown out. There's not enough time now to promote another team from league 2 because of all the logistics going down the leagues ,it's a fiasco and the hierarchy should have sorted out all this a while ago
When you look back at what the football league did to Luton & Bournemouth, if I remember Luton had 30pts deducted & Bournemouth 25pts. The season starts in 14 days time it's hard to beleive
Reading into the bury situation this morning they have been warned that they have until Monday to guarantee payments to debtors otherwise they will face postponement of their first game which makes me wonder can they fulfill all their fixtures this season ,it doesn't sound promising with them and bolton facing expulsion. What a mess the football league really need to step in and sort this fiasco out BEFORE the season starts ffs
