Are we not over stretching the budget a bit here? What would happen if Rob up and left? Is he even confirmed yet?
I wondered the same. We could be getting ourselves into a situation where, potentially, he could demand more or leave us in the ****
We ended last season with 19 under contract (1 out on loan). Of those I think 6 were released when the season ended, leaving 13. We are now up to 4 on loan and 20 contracted. Of the contracted players, unless contracts extended: 1 drops out in January 10 drop out at the end of the season That would leave us with 9 contracted players for 2020/2021 season
That didn't take long to **** up my numbers 9 drop out at the end of the season That would leave us with 10 contracted players for 2020/2021 season
Thompson and Jimbati played against Brentford B yesterday in a 2-1 win with goals from Parker (Pen) and Kashket.
It will be interesting to see if any of these extend their contracts at the end of the season: Adebayo Akinfenwa Matt Bloomfield Dominic Gape Jacob Gardiner-Smith Joe Jacobson Sido Jombati Craig Mackail-Smith Jamie Mascoll Alex Pattison Cameron Yates (GK) That is exactly half of our squad (ignoring our 4 loanees)
Just wondering what these L1 and L2 players do when they get released for the final time. They will only be around age 30 or so and they don't get paid enough to set aside enough see them through old age. A bit worrying I would think
I feel for gardiner-smith and Pattison as I doubt they will get much game time now we seem to have more money. We seemed to have bought in better quality than our original budget would allow.
Adebayo Akinfenwa ? Matt Bloomfield ? Dominic Gape Hope so Jacob Gardiner-Smith Doubtful Joe Jacobson Maybe Sido Jombati Maybe Craig Mackail-Smith Jamie Mascoll Doubful Alex Pattison Yes Cameron Yates (GK) Maybe
I think Pattison will as he looks a good player as for JGS and a few others we will have to wait for the EFL Trophy to see if they are any good
