Need a relatively easy start. Africa cup of nations and copa America will delay the return of some. Plus we have the crap shield and super cup in Turkey to play.

Need to aim for 100 points for any chance, struggle in August and we can just give up

What cost us the league is one home draw.

both teams had 44 points on the road. City took 54 points at home and we "only" took 53

We drew at home with city.
We drew at home to Leicester

city came to anfield for a draw, got it and then proceeded to need 14 wins on the bounce to take title by 1 point.

No side should be looking for better than 17-2-0 home record. Its obscene.

Away to city last season if we got only one point we should have won the league.

    true as well.

    either result would have done.

Our first job next year is minimum parity of results with city. 2 draws worst case or at least win home game. they won title with a 4 point to 1 out of 6 points swing to them. The year before it was other way round.
We beat them against the 18 other teams once... we can try to go that again.

Its not goign to be easy but it can be done once it can be done again.

    1. We should win every home game no matter the opposition. 2. Acceptable away draws - Everton, utd, ( our two traditional rivals) add city to that because of what they are atm. 3. Away draw to any team after a long journey in CL or close run of games is semi-acceptable. 4. No losses.

We just need the long range weather forecast now to see what our chances are :bandit:

Get the hard games over with first... Then we will have easier games when the cups start up.

As champions, city should be winning all their home games. As champions-elect we should be taking points off them at their gaff ( and ours as well). It's the best way to show we are serious contenders.

I agree with you that we should have at least drawn with them away.
