Don't like cricket, well I say that....it's a good day out with the boys to go and watch and get lashed up. You'd never catch me sitting in front of the gogglebox watching blokes hitting a little ball with a big stick for hours on end like
England made a solid but unspectacular start. I fancy SA may chase this down to be honest. Wor Liam getting De Kock is important, he's a ****ing nightmare once he gets in. Pick up Duminy and they might come apart quickly.

Very good start by England, once de Kock was out (sic) the writing was on the wall for SA. Good bowling from Plunkett and Archer and an outstanding catch by Stokes.
I like ODI a bit, moreso because we're currently awesome at it. A home world cup in which we should get to the semis and have a decent chance of winning is really just an aperitif for the Ashes. For the first time in my life I paid to watch sports on TV today. £30 for 3 months of skysports cricket, get me through the world cup and the ashes. Am calling up to cancel it with the 1-2 months notice required soon...
Watched West Indies annihilate Pakistan today. It was brutal - everything short and Pakistan just couldnt cope. Suspect English batsmen will also struggle if we get them on a fast wicket.
I just didn't see anything to be worried about to be honest. Yes on their day Windies could beat anyone and it their 2-3 best players play a blinder then they'll win but if Pakistan had more backbone they'd have got 150-200 at least and to be honest Windies would have been 4-5 down by the time they got to the 105, so rather poor fielding at times let them off. Not convinced Windies have a game plan really. Batting = hit it as hard as you can. Bowling = vary it up a bit. India, Australia and New Zealand are the ones who may deservedly win if we don't. The others don't look like teams, they look like 4-5 good players carrying 5-6 poor ones.
West Indies are always a threat in major tournaments. They are off the cuff but they have supremely talented individuals for the shorter formats. Being brutal the players are very motivated by the money of the T20 but not much else. The 50 over format holds some interest but not much. England should win and should deliver. I think they will but history tells us that Australia love this format and are in the semi finals nearly every time. In fact the last time I can remember the Aussies failing was on the sub continent (2011) when they got taken apart by the hosts India. Apart from that they are always there and New Zealand are never far behind either.
