City are favourites whichever way you look at it at this point.
After a few games and when a betting pattern emerges then the odds will adjust, but atm it's about right.
    Imo, of course.

Personally, I think City will find it hard to retain the title. They want the champions league trophy more than anything. Also, United Liverpool and Chelsea are not going to allow them to run away with it.

Chelsea couldn't even get higher than us and we were vile.

    are they though?

As I am sitting here and seeing what tuchel has done it was pretty good with just a touch of finishing required, I think they are the "most complete" in that they have the GK, back 3 (really good), wingbacks, strong CMs and lots of wide men. If tuchel can get faith in abraham or giroud or havertz comes on a bit they are well sorted.

By contrast I just feel city are just a little less sorted as of today. Yes they won it but they won it on the 20 match winning run that cheslea didn't appoint tuchel in time to match. They ended on 86 points which is beatable. Yes gk is good, back 4 is good but only with zinchenko, they have less reserves there. Midfield is mixed, rodri plus attacking cms and lots of them and then the big issue is up top. Sterling was awful, aguero is gone, jesus not a no 9 really.

Thats my thinking anyway. City won two trophies but cheslea could have done so too. they had a bad day at the office and couldn't score but could beat city 3 times in a month and take the CL.

Seem to me 5/1 v 4/6 is a bit unfair, or in other words cheslea offer a lot of value to the gambler and £50 there would not be a bad bet at all.

    why though?

cheslea only appointed tuchel on the 26th january.

chelsea were 8th on 21 points.

    8-5-6 record after 19 games.

Tuchels record including the focus on the CL at the end was played 19 11-5-3 = 38 points.

Even then they only lost to arsenal and villa last day as they were far more focused on the CL!

It seems to me that the only issue tuchel did not resolve for cheslea was werner's inability to finish the simplest chances!

Have to also add city lost to brighton and cheslea and leeds in their final 7 games as they also knoew the league was done and focused on cups.

the fact is cheslea owned city 3 times over a 6 week period.

Plenty of time for City to splash the cash and sort out their "problems".
The odds are just base odds for the beginning of the season. More people will bet on City before the season starts and so the bookies won't over-expose themselves early. They don't know, or care, who will win - they design odds to make a profit on any possible outcome.
I'm pretty sure they know what they're doing.

Same for Chelsea, that's why I said at this point in time to give me an out later ;)

5/1 for chelsea seems to me like pretty good value.

Not bothered. It makes no difference to what actually happens.
The fact is we have a large, loyal fanbase and plenty of inveterate gamblers amongst them. We'll be bet on heavily, so the odds will shorten.
Tbh if I was a gambler I'd be tempted to put 10p on us, Utd and the Chavs now. Can't see anyone other than the top 4 being serious challengers.

How the **** does that work? We won comfortably, okay Chelsea did too but why they become more of a favourite than us?

Not bothered like, rather be a underdog
