would absolutely love this, but it just seems too out of reach. Hope I am wrong though, would really be a signing to turn people’s heads.

You have Aubameyang, Laccazette, Martinelli (possibly Pepe), is another striker really your first priority?

Auba and laca are both over 30; laca has not been prolific for us, and questions marks are starting to appear over whether auba will regain his form.

but I agree, a midfielder would be more of a priority.

Judging by our stodgy, impotent display yesterday I can't seem this season being any different to last disappointingly

I agree - Auba is'nt performing and to be honest he still looks quick so the issue here is form and the manager/coaching staff should be helping him with that. Also Martinelli deserves a chance - he looks class whenver he's given game time.

If I were in charge I would be chasing Tolisso (less than a year on his contract and surplus to requirements at Bayern) plus an AMF option. Perhaps Aouar who would be considerably cheaper than Maddison.

Add a RB and a Keeper to that list. Ramsdale and Tripper would work.

    --------------------------Ramsdale---------------------------
    Trippier--------White------------Gabriel---------Tierney
    ------------------Partey------------Tolisso------------------
    -------------------------SmithRowe--------------------------
    Saka/Pepe---------Aubameyang-----------------Aouar

Bench: Leno, Pepe, Martinelli, Xhaka Mari, Tavarez, Lokonga.

Good side with a strong bench.

Not a fan of this I have to say. Especially for the reported £30m.

    Yeah it worries me.

We are geeing linked with Abraham, Ramsdale even Lingard when there are guys like Tolisso & Sabitzer available for smallish fees.

I hate to say it but we just dont look like a well run operation anymore.

Im not upset at getting Ramsdale.

Ramsdale for 24m however, when we sold Emi a season ago for 20m...That is just poor poor finance management.

Even worse when you think were essentially swapping Willock for Ramsdale...

Looks like the Ramsdale deal has been stopped because Sheffield United and Arsenal couldn't agree a fee.

I think this is good news because I didn't want us to spend £30m on a back-up goalkeeper. But it bothers me that it's taken this long to sort out a viable no.2. It really shouldn't be that difficult.

Well I think he would be first choice not backup because he's better on the ball than Leno.

But this begs the Question - why didnt they just show Martinez some love and start him as our No.1 - he deserved it IMO and last Season at Villa proved he's one of the Leagues best.

This is becoming the norm though at Arsenal.

Why sign Willian to big wages when we have Martinelli/Saka etc..?

Even White, I like him as a player but we have William Saliba a 20 year old £30 million quid signing that has'nt had a single start.
(Mavroponos also just had a superb Season in Germany and we offloaded him for peanuts.)

Lokonga looks like a quality prospect but then so did Guendouzi.

I just dont see the reasoning behind the signings we have been making.

There's no chance we'd be able to keep Leno if Ramsdale became no.1 instantly. It'd mean Leno would need to be sold and then we have to find another goalkeeper. Ramsdale was clearly a no.2 signing, by all accounts (to begin with anyway).

By all account Odengaard is still our No.1 Target (with Maddison/Aouar as backup options) But Real are holding out for £50m

As much as I rate him (still only 22) and think we didnt really get to see the best of him due to 1. Adapting to anew League and 2. Injuries - that's quite alot of money for a Club with huge debt.

Will see what happens I guess.

Yeah I wasn't sold on him. He was OK, but didn't impress me that much. Although granted the circumstances of how he joined wasn't ideal (struggling team, low on confidence, midway through the season).

A big statement of intent would have been Maddison. That's a proper signing IMO.

I don't get the fixation with Odegaard.

Guendouzi never looked a quality prospect. Even in his loan year in a weaker league, his 'highlights' videos on YouTube are laughably bang average.

We've had this argument 5-6 times already.

Will Emery was at the Club Guendouzi was quality. Had some great games for us - In fact it was only really him and Auba who performed for us that season.

Honestly I'm a big fan I would prefer him alongside Partey to even Xhaka - he's WAY better than Elneny and AMN. I like how combative he is, decent passer, can dribble - just a good all action box to box than can also play DM.

I do like the look of Lokonga too though.

To be honest I dont think Maddison is much better than Odengaard. Give the Norwegan two years - would he be at Maddisons level.. most likley.

I actually think for HALF the price Aouar is avery good alternative.

Nah - don't agree. I think Maddison is comfortably better. Looking at both of their careers, Maddison's chance creation is better, he scores more goals and gets more assists. He's efficient in the final third. By quite a distance too. Maddison is also Prem proven.

I don't like that Leicester have slapped £70m on him, but ultimately, if we want a player like that from a domestic rival, that's the price to pay.

Looks like Odegaard is set to be our next signing. Meanwhile, we're still negotiating with Sheffield United for Aaron Ramsdale.

We really are going to spend £150m this summer, and it’s hardly improved our squad from last season.

    white £50m
    Odegaard £35m
    Ramsdale £28m
    Lokonga £18m
    Tavares £7m

I don’t think those are bad signings necessarily, but are we really a better team than last season? I think no.

If you really purchase ramsdale for 28m, then you guys will be absolute mugged off. Relegated 2 seasons in a row and i'm not sure he's particular great at anything. Okay for a middling club but not a top 4 keeper and thats before you factor in this really expensive price for a keeper.
