My guess: Rashica Pukki Sargent/Cantwell McLean Sørensen Sara Giannoulis Gibson Omobamidele Aarons Krul Subs: Gunn, McCallum, Tomkinson, Gibbs, Núñez, Hernandez/Sinani, Hugill (Though Dowell may be on the bench given Smith's search for creativity)
I think that more than likely, although Smith seemed to like Dowell toward the end of last season, so I wouldn't rule out Dowell and Cantwell on each wing - would be a plus for creativity but massively lack pace
Yes, I edited my post later to include the Dowell possibility. It's also possible that Cantwell could start in place of McLean.
Could there be a surprise start for MN? He is at least match fit as opposed to Sara. But I'm guessing caution will prevail.
It's possible, but he's only had two days in training after a long flight over. Smith has some pretty difficult decisions to make.
I'd love anything to get excited about after what is now one whole season and one game of utter dross.
I'm really looking forward to seeing both of them play, but it looks like Sara to start and Núñez from the bench. That'll do for a start hopefully.
Omobamidele gets a giant photo as well! https://www.edp24.co.uk/news/large-billboards-of-norwich-players-at-carrow-road-9192278
I certainly didn't think he would start Núñez after just two days training. Do you want to use your crystal ball to predict the Cup lineup for Brum? My guess is: Gunn ? Hanley Tomkinson McCallum Núñez Sørensen Gibbs Sinani Hugill Hernandez Subs: McGovern, Gibson, McLean, Sara, Dowell, Ramsey, Sargent Sinari and Sargent may well change places either before or during the match. Some interesting comments from DS on Sara and Núñez: “Marcy, for the first 30 minutes, was a catalyst of the good things. He played a really good ball over the top for Milot early on. He can see a pass, wants to get on the ball and move in. Naturally, he tired and only came into the country a few days ago. That 75 minutes will be really good for him and Gabby (Sara) managed to get on for ten minutes as well. We saw a sign of him. He got a shot in and switched the play really well, so they’re getting to understand the way we want to play and they’ll get better for it." Where there's life there's hope!
After two games, according to Footystats, we are in the top four for quality of chances created, and the bottom six for quality of chances conceded (including 3 high value chances created by ourselves rather than the opposition). And we're yet to see our new midfield at full strength. Why are so many people apparently so gloomy?
Because we need Doomcaster back! It's a prem hangover, we were ugly and awful for most of the season (yes even with Farke) and it will go if we get a couple of quick wins
