    It dont.
It was a cynical ploy by the powerful clubs in football to guarantee no other clubs crashed the big boy club after Chelsea and City ruffled too many feathers.
And it was disguised as a policy to help small clubs avoid administration.

Despite being somewhat unethical, bordering on illegal, it went through anyway.
In any other field of business, telling owners they cannot invest their own cash into the business they own would be considered reprehensible.
And how many clubs has it helped avoid administration?
Because imposing financial penalties on clubs in financial difficulty is really helpful, isnt it?

Look on the bright side though.
Mudryk must still have had to agree to snub you guys for Chelsea for the transfer to go through, why would he do this? When he conveyed so often how much he dreamed of playing for Arsenal.....probably because we offered higher wages.
So you probably side stepped a land mine by not getting him, if he is swayed so easily.
Now watch him flop for us royally.

Locking in so many players can be a good idea if they are great but a very poor idea if they don’t turn out as expected or the new manager (it will happen) doesn’t want them - it will be very expensive to exit them, but Boleyn seems to have money to waste

at what point will the squad be so full that they can’t add anymore and then they miss out on what you need rather tan just copying what Arsenal are after and outbidding them

If we get Nelson, Smith Rowe and Jesus back then we don't actually need any numbers in attack for rotation as they'd provide it. Saka, Martinelli, Odegaard, Vieira, Jesus, Nketiah, ESR, Nelson is eight players for four positions which should be ample. Not counting Marquinhos because it looks like he's just a big useless lump of ****. So we're already three down of those eight due to injury so the argument we need numbers 'in case' is sort of moot as we're already in a 'just in case' scenario and we're surviving. ESR will help out now he's back too.

It's still centre mid we're dangerously short especially given Lokonga is ****e.

Ok, this is a bit out the blue - I don’t see how he fits our style of play but I guess he can provide cover when needed?

To me the Mudryk deal actually shows Chelsea have no idea what they are doing.
We seem to sign players who fit a certain profile for certain roles in the squad and meet all the right criteria.

Being linked to Trossard again now - he's not better than Martinelli or Saka but I like the fact he can cover all three forward positions.

We were actually linked to him about 18 months ago so he's clearly on the list.
Won't improve our 11 but offers good cover in all forward positions

This has been evident since last summer, bud.
Spending the entirety of the summer window playing footsie with Jules Kounde while he leads us round the garden path until Barca are able to sign him <ok> Who could have possibly foreseen that?
Wasting so much time on all that crap that we didnt even address our striker issue, leading to us at the last minute having to panic buy a 33 year old Aubameyang and pin all our goal scoring hopes on him and also settling for Koulibaly as a last minute Kounde alternative.

I actually don't mind Trossard and think he will add the perfect strength in depth up front INCASE of injuries or needed rotation. Plus he will hit the ground running with 3 years PL experience.

Never heard of this guy and it’s come totally out the blue - Jesus. Anyone know if he’s good?

Seems like we’re also close to finalising a deal for the young Spanish right-back Ivan Fresneda. Meant to be very highly rated.

Now THIS would be an incredible signing even it’s only a short-term loan.

Who had heard of Saliba or Gabriel or Martenelli before we bought them
or. going back in time Vierra Petit Anelka Lauren

so buying unknowns is part of our history - as someone once said we don’t buy superstars we make them

so let’s trust our manager and coaches to have done their research

good on Edu getting deals done quickly

Cedric’s on £100k a week??? No wonder we’ve struggled to shift him, bloody hell.

Apparently Elneny could be out for the entire season, which would be a hammer blow, so we need to bring in a midfielder asap
