3 concerning trends that Lee Johnson must stop at Bristol City to reignite promotion push

Bristol City’s form over the last month has seen them drop out of the playoff places and fall down to ninth in the table, but they sit just one point off of sixth despite their poor form.

Lee Johnson will be trying to put his finger on why the Robins have struggled lately, and he will be assessing all possible room for improvement to try and get his side’s push for promotion back on track during the second half of the season.
Here, we take a look at three concerning trends that Lee Johnson must stop at Ashton Gate if Bristol City are going to reignite their promotion push…

    Struggles at home
Bristol City have the 18th-worst home record in the Championship, and Lee Johnson will be wanting to instruct his players that Ashton Gate should be like a fortress for the Robins if they want to achieve promotion.
The Robins have taken just 19 points from 13 home games this season, as well as drawn with Shrewsbury Town 1-1 in the FA Cup third round a couple of weeks ago.
Bristol City have the potential to improve their form at home with their expansive style of play and the passionate home fans behind them, but three points at home is now becoming a must if they are to crawl back into the playoff spots.

    Shipping of goals
One concerning trend that has seen Bristol City fall out of the playoff places at a crucial stage of the season is the constant shipping of goals this season
The Robins have kept seven clean sheets during the current Championship season, not a bad stat at this time of the season, but they have conceded more goals than the likes of 19th-placed Charlton Athletic and just one goal less than 23rd-placed Wigan Athletic.
Lee Johnson will be wanting his team to make their defence tighter on matchday, and it is something that he should be working religiously to improve on the training ground.

    Inconsistent form
After a good first few months during the season campaign in which Bristol City only lost twice up until the end of October, they have lost six times in the two-and-a-half months that have followed.
The Robins have won four games out of their last 10, and lost the last six, as Lee Johnson will begin to worry that his side are perhaps becoming too inconsistent week by week.
The side from Bristol have shown that they are all capable of achieving the consistent results that can get them up into the playoff places, but they will need to turn their form around and string another set of results together if they are to push for the playoffs.

I agree, this is something that is factual, the piece on mistakes looks like something the LJ haters made up for their own satisfaction, utter horse

But these are things fans of just about every club in the country bemoans, it’s not just City. And guess what, if the haters drive LJ out, the next manager will at some point have the same challenges and issues.
If there is one thing that would make SL ditch his ownership of City, it would be our ultra negative and overly critical fans!! Some On here (you know who you are) are the very epitome of the “you only sing when you’re winning” fan!!

different context it is the reason we are looking to input new faces or is that a mistake? should we not make the mistake of bringing in new faces and endeavour to go with what we got?
It could be a MISTAKE to go with what we have got … OR it could be a MISTAKE … not getting someone in … or It would definitely be a MISTAKE if we panicked and brought in the wrong one/ones

but they are sort of linked, albeit tentatively, further information being released does confirm they made a mistake in believing that EDDIE was coming … don't count your clucks till they have hatched! [ when they changed managers and he was recalled my thoughts were he wont be coming ]
….. Holden states no one lined up … NOW THATS A MISTAKE should have been wrangling with a club or 2 over buying their " ??????????" so that's 2 … in any case they said 2 strikers? / forwards? ….. so that's a mistake to not have a few more irons in the fire ….. !
this whole transfer window is pannig out badly … or as planned? club happy to see what they get with what they have? although think cup loss was a major blow ……. methinks management took an unexpected serious hit on that ….
