There are Irish centres all over the world, every big UK city will have a couple. Irish Government funded, their main purpose is to help Irish immigrants and their descendants. They provide cash food etc but also cover costs for travel back and forth for funerals/take care of all the admin getting the body back home and the like. And they've always got cracking boozers in them.
Is a thing, Niall Quinn used to watch the GAA here when he played for Sunderland, drink cheap as chips into the bargain.
It's fair enough imo, our skint immigrants should be as little a burden on the host country as possible its not like ireland is skint these days
