United had a difficult away game. Scored 3 conceded 1. Solid performance, good football and some very good individual performances. And all done without 2 of our 3 main signings. If that's the sign of things to come under Mourinho I'm happy. Can only see us getting better as the season goes on.
That's it, big up Bournemouth. They made an horrendous mistake otherwise it would've probably ended up 0-0, looked a lot like an LVG performance up to that point.
Why because it was 0-0? What about for the 60 minutes after? The game is 90 minutes fella. And who's bigging up Bournemouth? Feel free to predict the score at their ground when you play them and we'll see. Like I said, first game of the season, a tricky away fixture, it was a poor first half but we got better as the game went on. We were more attacking then we ever were under Van Gaal and kept a tight defence. We lost there last season iirc. And all of that without 2 of our major signings.
Agree with Shearer, that there could be 5 or 6 teams fighting for top spots 2nd to 6th. But title is Jose's. My predo again 2nd & 3rd between City & Chelsea 4th - Goons or Pool 6th - Everton with Leicester outsiders. Spuds will finish atleast 4 places behind Pool. FAKT
Shearer knows **** all, he doesn't have the best record in predictions in fact worse than Lawro. Again my prediction top six in no order City, Chelsea, Everton, Utd, Liverpool Arsenal.
After 4 games last season United were 6 points ahead of Spurs, City were 9....and Chelsea players were taking turns on Eva. Nothing to worry about here.
To some extent. But we are capable of beating anybody when we're on song. Consistency is what we need to find - as always, unfortunately!....
Spot on mate. Shearer is the messiah for neanderthals. He demonstrates **** all insight at a level beyond the idiocy of someone like StanDMan on here. One thing that absolutely ****s me off about him is the way he favours every English player and manager, but is a complete ****ing hypocrite towards foreigners. You can tell the minute he starts talking he's going to come out with some ****e.
For me its 3 teams who will challenge. Utd, Chelsea and City. Form, albeit very early, also suggests this will be the case. Again, my money is on United. But I am very happy to see Hazard, Willian and Costa looking sharp and hungry, and Kante has transformed our midfield. Still think we are a CB short of the complete article though, which is why I think we will finish 3rd, behind the Mancs. Still some time left in the window though.
United are solid now. The sheer physical size of that team is going to make them extremely difficult to score against from set plays etc, and that's how the smaller clubs generally undo the more technically gifted sides, that in itself is going to prove a big factor over the course of the season imo.
Tbh I think the real test for United will be how they respond after they lose. As long as we keep winning we'll be fine. But we'll know their cedentials only once they lose a game and whether this group of players under Mourinho have the mentality to put it behind them straight away.
I think it will be between United, City & Chelsea. Thought that before the season and judging on what I've seen so far if I was laying my money it would be on United.
looks like we agree on our picks, except that I have picked my 1st place. Other positions will be close run in the top 6. Infact your statement is more line with Shearer's - top 6 with no particular order. Whereas I have made up the mind and calling Jose's title. I am more different to Shearer's than yous
It's far too early to be making predictions. It's not even the end of August yet! But as everybody else is doing it... Utd, City, Chelsea, L'pool, Arsenal, Spurs. If pushed, I'll say Utd to win it! But key injuries can make a mug out of any predictions. Especially this early.
In the words of the great bottler "I reserve the right the **** this right up and still claim the victory".
