A Guide to Watching "Dark Markets" Matches

Some matches on QPR+ are for 'dark markets' only and can't be watched from the UK. This is easy to get around.

I use Opera browser, but I know this works on Chrome. And I use Avira Phantom VPN.
    • Go to your browser's extensions/add-ons library.
On Opera, simply click on the big red O, then extensions > get extensions. Then search for "Avira VPN."

On Chrome, simply go to https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/extensions?hl=en-GB and then search for "Avira VPN."

(For Firefox and Microsoft Edge, you'll have to find an equivalent VPN (virtual private network) extension that allows you to select particular countries.)

    • Once you're set up with the extension, get the VPN extension to pretend that you're located in the Netherlands. Once that has been initialised, go to the QPR website, sign in as usual and buy the game! It'll actually be £7, which is the price for overseas users.
    • Watch as normal!

    Thanks.

I will need to test this during the next Dark Markets only match day.

This works, but Opera has it's own VPN as well - I've watched plenty of games whilst being "located" in Afghanistan

Much easier to download a browser called 'Brave'. Built on Chrome software, but much better security and ad blocking inbuilt. Best of all, there is a tab called 'Private Window with Tor', which is a great way to get round work servers and stuff limited in the UK like some QPR matches...

Just wanted to bump this thread for anyone who wants to watch the match from the UK today. Use Netherlands as your location.

Some games are dark market, others are not.

Also, I've found that the website sometimes allows me to buy the game but then not be able to watch it. So maybe have a VPN ready in case.

Towards the end of last season my McAfee provided VPN worked for these Dark Market games. I'm contemplating going for the season pass this year as that's decent value but concerned that either it stops working or they shut this loophole down.

I'm assuming clubs know about it anyway and either can't do anything to stop it or just turn a blind eye as they're making money from it.
