Norwich City 3 - 1 Sheffield Wednesday Could one win just kick-start the season For my part, I am doubting so, And I still can´t see any reason Why we shouldn´t let Herr Farke go But there´s no doubt three points last weekend Came along at just the right time, Although it ´s far from certain they´ll send Us off on a barnstorming climb For Wednesday aren´t the team of old This season. meek, mild and mealy, A team running both hot and cold A bit like ourselves, actually There´s still too much responsibility On too few shoulders, in my view, And also too much predictability When Farke works out just what to do But something back from Leeds United Although the odds don´t augur so, Might send hope that this year´s not blighted As all the signs so far, do show.
So normal service has been resumed as soon as possible. Back to firing blanks I see now why am I not surprised, we obviously used up our next two months´ supply, last week
I don't quite agree RBF.- we actually had 4 shots on target. Let's wait and see how we fare in the remaining matches this year and if we don't pick up a MINIMUM of 5 points, then my 'glass will be half empty!!!'
Well, a shame we couldn´t have got at least one of them in. And I presume that´s what the Pink´un call a HOST of chances
Yes, you´re naturally quite right in remaining hopeful JM, but just between us two , the season´s already over I´m afraid, not just because we haven´t won enough games, but because we are nowhere near clinical enough at putting the few chances we do make, away. I don´t think there´s any danger of us going down, but nor do I see us picking up enough consistency to threaten the top six. But May time will tell.
Excellent comment RBF and I'm 'still on the fence' on that. I'll come down off the fence on Jan 2nd 2018!!!
I wouldn't be at all surprised if we win our next three games. Then it's a revenge match vs. Millwall. If we could win that would put us at about 10th position within a shout of the playoffs. I don't think we will make the playoffs, though. There are too many teams to jump over. Still, it could be an exciting last 20 games.
Look on the bright side RBF, at least we’ll have another season of Championship ‘football’ to look forward to which is where you’d rather us stay isn’t it? After all we are ‘little Norwich’ are we not?
I wouldn´t rather we stay in the Champ KIO, ( but it doesn´t bother me as much as it does some, IF we do) just can´t see us getting out, that´s all. We´re nowhere near consistent enough, nowhere near clinical enough in front of goal, and we haven´t got a manager who knows just what it takes to get us out. Can you see us getting out at the moment?
Brentford at home, Birmingham and Burton away? - we´re on banana skin alley again. They look like three draws at best, to me, and I have to say, I would be extremely surprised if we won all three.
Interesting mix of comments on this article http://www.eveningnews24.co.uk/spor...rustrated-by-narrow-defeat-at-leeds-1-5323782 both from a few notables and a few not, which prove I´m not alone in thinking we´re stuck here for a while.
It's been a long turning of the corner, but I think we're almost there. Now with AP back and Trybull and Tettey ready to play again, this will be our best chance of the season to go on a little winning streak. Of course, if we can't score, It doesn't matter who's in the team.
These next four games might easily be our best chance of a revival Spring, but you know as well as I do, that we are renowned for cocking up nearly every chance we get, against teams at the bottom. We´d have far more chance if we were meeting Wolves, A. Villa, Derby and Bristol C, that way we´d have nothing to lose.
I can't argue with your first sentence, RBF. We do find ways, don't we? It's up to DF to change that. Right now I'm about 70%-30% in favour of believing in Farke. At least the players seem to like him.
If true, that at least is a step in the right direction, we certainly won´t get anything if they turn against him. Certainly Brentford are no mugs, as we´ve seen before at Carrow Road, so I tip a draw. The next two, on paper at least, ought to give more, but we know they´ll fight like hell, something we´re not always inclined to do, so one draw, one loss. Millwall, last match of the Christmas period ( fourth game in just over a week AND with Chelsea to come in the Cup), could be anything, but don´t bank on a home win.
If read your post right, that's three points from the next four games, RBF. I'll go with three wins and a draw for 10 points. So, a gentleman's bet? If we get six points or less, you win; seven or more, I win. (If I win we'll both be ).
I´ll happily take you on, Spring, and may the best man win - but I hope for all our sakes, that you do.
