Early news looks good. Not entirely sure of the extent of Wickens injuries, but it looks like it's nothing life threatening. Not sure on Hinch yet... Hoping he hasn't damaged that arm again.
Broken both legs, bruised lung and spinal injuries, but nothing that cannot be fixed it seems. Hopefully see him back for next season. https://www.autosport.com/indycar/news/138134/wickens-breaks-both-legs-in-pocono-shunt
Looking again at the accident, you wonder if the cars still had the 'bumpers' covering the rear wheels, would Wickens car have ridden over the top of Hutnter-Raey in the way it did, bearing in mind the shallow banking they have at Pocono? Okay they looked a bit junior formula, but aesthetics don't seem to come into it these days when safety is considered. Look at the halo's!
Seems it's been a little more severe than some of the initial reports might have suggested, but it looks like his recovery is headed in the right direction. He's going to have a fair amount of rehabilitation, but hopefully back racing soon.
Wow, it seems WIckens injuries are even worse than thought https://www.autosport.com/indycar/news/139667/wickens-clarifies-severity-of-injuries Wickens said: "Did my first slide transfer as a paraplegic today. "My upper body is getting stronger and stronger and hopefully I'll be able to do it unassisted soon. "I've only been posting videos of the small movement in my legs, but the reality is I am far away from walking on my own. "Some people are a bit confused with the severity of my injury, so I wanted let you know the reality of it. "I've never worked harder for anything in my life, and I am giving it all I've got to spark those nerves in my legs."
Aaarrrgggh. Sky have got the IndyCar coverage from BT Sport this year. So no live F1 or Indy now this year without paying extra.
