After a poor run of form, the Leeds board acted and dipped into the transfer market and signed 22 year old striker Batchuluun Munkhtuvshin, from the Mongolian Premier League club, Khaan Khuns-Erchim (sorry no wiki article or Youtube clips available for those who want to see what the new signing is like ;) )

So with Leeds just 4 points and 2 places above the relegation zone, 11th place Brentford are the visitors to Elland Road for today's match, and Leeds give a debut to their new Mongolian signing, who makes a fantastic start for his new club, putting the whites 1-0 up within 60 seconds of the start. With chances at either end, there was no further score, and Leeds come away with the much needed 3 points.

Next up is an away trip to the City Ground, home of Nottingham Forest. Forest, have defied many pundits predictions of being relegation favourites, currently find themselves 4th in the table, although form in recent weeks has dropped off. In the reverse fixture at Elland Road, Leeds came out on top in a 7 goal thriller, can we expect more of the same here ? In yet another action packed game between these 2 clubs, the game ends even, with the score being Nottingham Forest 3 Leeds United 3.

Its both a relegation clash and the war of the roses next, as Scum Utd, travel to Yorkshire. Scum who have had a poor season, find themselves just behind Leeds in the table, and in a free flowing game of attacking football, Leeds extend the gap in the table, by beating their Lancashire rivals, 3 goals to 2.

For the final game of this period, Leeds make the trip to Merseyside, where they take on Everton at Goodison Park. Since the signing of Mongolian Munkhtuvshin, Leeds have adopted a more attacking approach to game, and this one is no exception. Unfortunately defensively, they are leaving themselves wide open, and Everton come away with the 3 points, with an exciting 3-2 victory.

7 points from 12 have seen Leeds put some distance between themselves and the bottom 3 teams. West Ham continue to reign supreme at the top of the table, with an 11 point gap over 2nd place Newcastle, with Aston Villa in 3rd a further 2 points behind. Nottingham Forest poor form sees them slip from 4th to 6th place.

A gap has opened up at the bottom with 17th placed Crystal Palace 8 points clear of 18th placed Wolves, and it looks like it will be difficult for any of the bottom 3 teams to put a run of form together to ensure their Premier League survival.

League Table (up to Game 24)

West Ham 57 Points, Scored 71, Conceded 27, GD +44

There were both emotions of joy and woe with the visit of Southampton to Elland Road. New Mongolian striker, Batchuluun Munkhtuvshin, scoring a hat trick as Leeds ran out 3-0 winners against the Saints, but the last minute injury to the new striker, put a dent in the celebrations. Unconfirmed reports suggest that Munkhtuvshin has suffered a broken toenail and may be out of first team selection for an undetermined period.

Without the availability of their new striker, Leeds reverted to form with their visit to London, where they were thrashed 4-0 by Chelsea, all signs of the attacking football that the whites had been displaying in the last few weeks, all but disappeared.

Matters took an even more turn for the worse, when Leeds entertained Brighton at home, and fell to their heaviest home defeat of the season, scoring just once in reply to the four goals from Brighton.

With Leeds on a run of 4 defeats in a row, they badly needed a change of form with the upcoming visit to relegation threatened Wolves. Whilst avoiding defeat, fans will surely be disappointed that the team could only register a 1-1 draw against a side with only one win in their last 17 matches.

So the topsy turvy form continues for Leeds, which has seen them drop back down to 16th, ahead of Fulham on goal scored, albeit 9 points clear of Wolves who remain 18th.

At the top, West Ham's run of 12 consecutive victories came to an end with a 3-3 draw away to Brighton, which was followed with a 4-4 draw at home to Aston Villa, who have moved up into 2nd place, 11 points behind the leaders. Chelsea registered 4 wins out of 4 and are now only 1 point behind Newcastle, who have dropped to 3rd place.

Nottingham Forest dismal run continues as they failed to collect a single point from any of their 4 games, which has seen the Midlands club drop to 10th in the table. Scum United fans will be pleased to see their team in the top half of the table for the first time this season, the Lancashire club, having collected an impressive 19 out of 24 available points, in their last 8 games.

Whilst the bottom 3 remain the same, Bournemouth 1-0 win over Liverpool sees them level on points with Wolves, who have a superior goal difference.

    League Table (after 28 Games)

West Ham Utd, 63 Points, GD +45
Aston Villa, 54 Points, GD +18
    Newcastle, 52 Points, GD +5
    Chelsea, 51 Points, GD +28
    Brighton, 44 Points, GD +6
Man City, 43 Points, GD +13
    Everton, 41 Points, GD +1
    Spurs, 40 Points, GD -2
Scum Utd, 39 Points, GD -7
Notts Forest, 37 Points, GD +5
    Arsenal, 37 Points, GD +2
    Liverpool, 37 Points, GD 0
    C Palace, 35 Points, GD -2
    Southampton, 35 Points, GD -13
    Brentford, 34 Points, GD -2
    Leeds, 33 Points, GD -8
    Fulham, 33 Points, GD -8
    Wolves, 24 Points, GD -24
    Bournemouth, 24 Points, GD -28
    Leicester, 19 Points, GD -30

Biggest wins of the season : West Ham 7 Bournemouth 1 and Spurs 0 West Ham 6

With 10 games of the season left, whilst no places have been decided, West Ham go in as favourites to win the title being 9 points clear of Aston Villa. Chelsea in 4th place look likely to gain the final Champions league qualification place, being 7 points clear of 5th placed Brighton. At the bottom of the table, Wolves, Bournemouth and Leicester still remain favourites for relegation, although both Fulham and Leeds will be looking over their shoulders, being 9 points clear of relegation.

Leeds travel away to Arsenal and their poor fortune in the Capital continues, as Arsenal gain a 2-1 victory.

The visit of Crystal Palace to Elland Road, doesn't do much to ease the fans worry of relegation, as Leeds fail to capitalise on their possession, and only gain a point in a 1-1 draw.

Liverpool are the next visitors to Elland Road, who have been having a poor season by their usual standards, however the Reds put together a performance that most of their fans expect and Leeds fall to a 3-0 defeat at home.

A second trip to the Capital in 4 weeks, which Sky TV has dubbed as Relegation Roulette weekend, as Leeds travel to fellow relegation threatened Fulham. In defiance of their lowly league positions, both teams put on an entertaining display of attacking football, but it is Fulham who end the game the happiest, winning this 5 goal thriller, by 3 goals to 2.

1 point in 12 has seen Leeds slip closer towards the relegation places, with Bournemouth having closed the gap to 7 points, with Leicester only a point further behind, having picked up 7 points out of a possible 12 in their last 4 games.

West Ham have extended their lead at the top of the table to 11 points, although they did taste defeat for the first time in 26 games, when they lost 1-0 at home to Southampton. Newcastle have slipped to 4th place, and with Manchester City only 6 points behind, they still linger hope of Champions League Qualification. Brighton in 7th place are certain of Premier League football next season.

    League Table (after 32 Games)

West Ham United, 72 Points, GD +55
Aston Villa, 61 Points, GD +25
    Chelsea, 60 Points, GD +33
Newcastle Utd, 59 Points, GD +1
Man City, 53 Points, GD +18
    Spurs, 52 Points, GD +10
    Brighton, 46 Points, GD +2
Notts Forest, 44 Points, GD +6
    Arsenal, 44 Points, GD +1
Crystal Palace, 43 Points, GD +2
    Liverpool, 43 Points, GD +1
    Everton, 42 Points, GD -6
Scum Utd, 41 Points, GD -9
    Fulham, 39 Points, GD -13
    Southampton, 39 Points, GD -14
    Brentford, 38 Points, GD -4
Leeds United, 34 Points, GD -13
    Bournemouth, 27 Points, GD -36
    Leicester, 26 Points, GD -29
    Wolves, 24 Points, GD -30

Biggest wins of the season : West Ham 7 Bournemouth 1 and Spurs 0 West Ham 6
Highest Scoring Games - West Ham 7 Bournemouth 1, West Ham 4 Aston Villa 4

So with 6 games to go, none of the crucial positions are decided. Next two games are real crucial for Leeds, especially given the rest of the run in.

Leeds remaining fixtures - Leicester (H), Bournemouth (A), Man City (A), Newcastle (H), West Ham (A), Spurs (H)

Will Leeds poor form continue, will they be able to maintain the points difference over the bottom 3 teams, will they discover some form and surge away from relegation, find out in the final update from me on this thread later this evening :)

This seems more like a reenactment of last season, rather than a random prediction for this season

Well the league table shows us as having the 5th worse defence, having conceded 65 goals, so there may well be some truth in that statement ;)

Well here we are, 6 games to go, 12 points required to secure Premier League Football, it's what you have all been waiting for :)

A fully packed Elland Road, for the game that could have a massive effect on the future of both clubs, as Leicester visit Leeds in a relegation clash. In a tense tight game, with neither sides defence giving much away it's the Elland Road fans that leave jubilant following Junior Firpo's 40 yard pile driver, giving the whites a 1-0 home win

Leeds enter there second relegation clash, with a trip down to the south coast, knowing that a win over Bournemouth will provide the team with a much needed safety margin, especially as Leeds remaining fixtures are all against top 6 teams. A strong police presence in view today, although both sets of fans have been good natured so far.

Bournemouth take an early lead, but Leeds skipper, Liam Cooper levels just before half time with a header from a corner. Bournemouth regain the lead minutes after the start of the second half, but Leeds are level within 60 seconds, Patrick Bamford getting on the scoresheet for the first time this season. With the game entering the final 10 minutes, Bamford is replaced by Mongolian striker, Munkhtuvshin, who returns to the side after a lengthy absence, and with 2 minutes of normal time left, its the Mongolian who puts Leeds ahead 3-2. A couple of nervy moments for the Leeds defence as we enter into added time, when Daniel James receives the ball on the halfway line, sprints away from the defenders, and coolly slots in the 4th for the boys from Yorkshire. 6 points from 2 games, puts Leeds on 40 points and confirms they will play in the Premier League next season. Leicester and Bournemouth still mathematically have a chance of catching Brentford, however it can be confirmed that Wolves are relegated.

With the Whites premier league future secured last week, and Manchester City still pushing for the final Champions League place, it was inevitable that the Lancashire side would come out on top, securing a 2-0 victory.

Leicester defeat at Fulham and Bournemouth only managing a draw at home to Chelsea, seals their fate, although both results were academic, as Brentford secured all 3 points with an away win at Liverpool

With Newcastle only four points ahead of 5th placed Manchester City, that fourth Champions League place is still up for grabs. From the start the Leeds goal is under pressure, as Newcastle surge forward time and time again, trying to get the goal that will give them 3 points. With the game heading towards 0-0 a controversial VAR decisions awards Leeds a penalty on one of their rare attacks, and the ball is comfortably tucked away by Adam Forshaw, who had only been on the pitch for a couple of minutes, having replaced Roco, and Leeds win 1-0.

West Ham United away win at Brentford confirms them as this season Premier League Champions

Leeds travel down to the Capital, which has not been a happy hunting ground over recent seasons, where the players give a guard of honour to the West Ham players, as they lift the Premier League trophy. Presumably the hammers players have been celebrating hard all week, as they turn in a lacklustre display, and a Jack Harrison freekick, gives Leeds a 1-0 victory.

Chelsea, Aston Villa and Newcastle all qualify for next season Champions League

Its a fine sunny day here at Elland Road, as Leeds enter the field to a rousing cheer from the capacity crowd. Munkhtuvshin starts his first game, since his injury in week 25, and without the the threat of relegation, and some fine form in recent weeks, the Leeds player turn on their performance of the season. Free flowing attacking football, sees Munkhtuvshin score his second hattrick of the season, Stuart Dallas comes off the bench and adds his name to the score sheet, with a fifth goal added by young Archie Gray. Leeds roll out easy 5-1 winners.

    (C) West Ham United - 81 Points - +59 GD
    Chelsea - 76 Points - + 44 GD
    Aston Villa - 75 Points - +29 GD
    Newcastle United - 69 Points - +7 GD
    Man City - 66 Points - +24 GD
    Spurs - 62 Points - +9 GD
    Brighton - 57 Points - +6 GD
    Notts Forest - 49 Points - +2 GD
    Leeds United - 49 Points - -8 GD
    Scum United - 49 Points - -9 GD
    Liverpool - 48 Points - -1 GD
    Arsenal - 48 Points - -3 GD
    Southampton - 48 Points - -15 GD
    Crystal Palace - 46 Points - -3 GD
    Fulham - 46 Points - -15 GD
    Brentford - 45 Points - -6 GD
    Everton - 44 Points - -11 GD
    (R) Bournemouth - 33 Points - -38 GD
    (R) Wolves - 30 Points - -31 GD
    (R) Leicester - 28 Points - -36 GD

    Leeds overall record
    Won 13
    Drew 10
    Lost 15
    Goals Scored 62
    Goals Conceded 70
    Points 49

    Final Position 9th

For those who persevered with the thread, thank you very much, hope you had fun reading about our forthcoming fortunes for next season :)

Some very fortunate Random Number Generator rolls helped us out on those last 4 fixtures, I was sat looking at them, thinking no one is going to believe that these are the scores my little computer program produced, but they were the actual scores, and I honestly thought that Bournemouth were going to catch us.

Seriously hope our season ends as well as it did here, but with less of a roller coaster ride :)

Anyways now this has been completed, and I can go and enter my "Where do you think Leeds will finish this season" as requested by Jammy :)

So on my actual predictions on Jammy's thread, I got two exact positions correct, 5 within the right area of the final league table, and 13 totally wrong, so how did the dice do.

Well the dice went for West Ham to win the league, so random chance was way out there, but weren't far off with letting Villa have a good season, and got Newcastle correctly to finish 4th.

The dice also said at least one of the so called "big 6" would have a poor season, turns out that instead of the dice selections of Liverpool and Arsenal, Chelsea were the ones who turned that into reality.

Dice had Everton finishing in their final position of 17th, cant even get annoyed over that now, because it would have made no difference to us, and even predicted Leicester going down.

At the end of the day the dice predicted table, got two exact positions correct, plus 5 other clubs finishing within the final areas of the table, and 13 totally wrong, so basically the same outcome as my predictions , for a lot less effort :(

There are some busy boards in the Championship, so lots of banter.

Bristol City, Cardiff, Swansea, Hull, QPR, Saints, Sunderland and Norwich are all very active.
