Paratici did work on that, which hopefully means the likes of Dinley, Moore and Irow will benefit Not so good for the current U21s though, given they're behind the development curve already
Strong team, which isn't surprising as we need to win by three goals to stay in the PL2 top flight on goal difference
Nope. Stayed 1-0 and the U21s are relegated, rather embarrassingly. Doesn't mean that much, but I still believe that the academy needs overhauling.
A large part of that is because chunks of our U18 and U21 squads are interchangeable, as a good number of U18 players were released last summer instead of moving up to the U21s
So another suggestion has been made for our U21s failing to beat the drop Remember how it was said that Conte would use members of our U21 squad as training cones? It's been mentioned that he would do so on U21 matchdays, meaning we couldn't field a full strength U21 side because various players were standing on our training pitch so members of our first team could work on their combinations Add to that the more obvious issue of U21 players missing training sessions to be a prop in first team training throughout the season, it really looks like Conte did more damage than we first realised
Looks like Sam Cox at the back there. Currently on Welling's books and plays international football for Guyana. Also appears in Ted Lasso. Busy man.
Lilywhite Rose suggests that, following our U21s relegation from PL2, up to ten players could be released from the group TBH I was expecting 4-6 releases anyway, as there's a few players who are close to aging out of our U21s in the team like Jamie Bowden, Brooklyn Lyons-Foster or Malachi Fagan-Walcott, plus players passing 20 who seem to be making up the numbers like Richard Hammond lookalike Max Robson (also the whole Romaine Mundle contract and lack thereof) but this looks like this season's U18 squad will wholesale be moving into the U21s next season
Been at the club for 13 years and spent four years at each of Norwich, Derby and Luton before that. No idea if he's any good, but our academy hasn't been recently.
He's been in charge of our academy for 18 months, ever since John McDermott took an FA role, although TBH I don't buy that he's to blame for our relegation from PL2 Part of that comes from the side being shorn of goals, with Dane Scarlett loaned for the season and Kion Etete sold last summer, and a portion of blame can be aimed at Conte having U21 players miss games because they were fulfilling the important task of being training cones for first team training - and then Harvey White went out on loan in January :::EDIT::: It appears that Rastrick is heading to join McDermott in the England setup
