Accrington Stanley have rejected a 'derisory' bid from Stockport for Sean McConville - but they could still lose the player. The club hope to convince McConville to stay at the club, but acknowledge he is out of contract and could move on. The 22-year-old's contract has expired but is training at the club and is in talks about a new deal. Assistant boss Jimmy Bell â McConvilleâs uncle â is hopeful that the Hatters' interest won't derail negotiations. Bell said: âWe were nearly there until we received this bid this morning. âWe have had a bid but we have rejected it. It was derisory, miles short of our valuation. But Sean is out of contract so weâll have to see what happens.â
Why would McConville go to Stockport? Not only are they going nowhere but they don't even own the ground. Recipe for disaster
