It was her teenage brother that had the sad ending, Askew - he was having a kickabout in his back garden and dropped stone dead from an un-diagnosed heart ailment, only 14 or 15 if memory serves, a terrible thing.
There was one in Glasgow today but you wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere near it!!! There's some absolutely disgraceful footage doing the rounds and Glasgow looks like it's been hit by a ****ing bomb...Lockdown here we come 'again'
It's not a program I watch these days, only when we were in the top flight did I watch it. I'm sure Alex Scott will do a great job, as she always comes across well whenever I have seen her, so good luck to her. P.S. As long as she doesn't laugh as much on-air as Micah Richards, as that irritates the **** out of me, she would be a winner for me anyways.
He's right, though. Let's break down this BBC headline, with it's sub, as it reads, as if you're scanning the news. York. Meh. Draw Tigers. Ooh, okay. In women's. Hmm, in what? Cup semsis. Hello, get in. Chance for a trophy. Lindsay Anfield. Something to do with Liverpool? Big stadium. Old club Castleford. Wait a ****ing minute. 2021 Women's Challenge Cup Final. What the ****? This sounds like rugby. It is rugby, isn't it? Not even the **** rugby I've seen before, but rugby played by muscly ladies, desperately playing a **** sport in which achieving equal pay would still be ****? Why have I spent so much time reading this and why have I remembered it? Why, I ask you, why? The BBC continuously mixes genders of sport headlines together, perhaps this is part of the 'box ticking' I've heard about. I sincerely hope the standard of women's sport improves, both so that they can earn some money and make it watchable. I don't know how you can make rugby watchable, though.
I think when Gabs hits the menopause, she will quietly be shown the door and the work will dry up (if you'll pardon the pun) . Same rules apply.
Cloughie snr, absolute tv gold whenever he was on... the one about the conversation with a player and in the end he always right was just brilliant lol
If the argument is equality, then there should only be the one league that both sexes compete in, with team selection based on merit and ability.
I see this year's champions league final is Chelsea vs Barcelona, the richest club's have the best female teams too.
Looking forward to the change. Experienced, knowledgable, talks sense, has a degree in journalism and broadcasting. She’s probably the most qualified person for the job.
Your mistake is thinking the programme is for fans that watch their team live, when it's more aimed at consumers. Fans at games are more performing seals that form part of the product. Recent times have shown that having no fans in the ground doesn't seem to have detracted from the product, and makes it easier to schedule shows.
I remember seeing cloughie having a go at Brian Moore years ago about too much talk about a game of football Kills it for me can’t stand all the hype before and after a game Unless it’s on here obvs
If recent times have shown us anything, it’s that televised football is a shadow of its former self if there’s no fans there.
You said it hasn’t detracted from the product, but it unquestionably has, viewing figures are just a reflection of the fact that fans can’t attend have generally been stuck at home for year.
The numbers are up far more than would be made up by attendees. You're mistaking the product as experienced by attendees, with the product the majority experience, which is via the TV.
