Went with my girlfriend (soon to be my wife) in August 1970 (I think) to see Joe Baker make his debut after signing from Hibs. Drove down in a Morris 1000,top speed 45mph took us forever and typical Sunderland we lost 4-3 with Baker scoring 2 or 3 can't remember which. that was a hell of a long drive home.
Blackpool away, in our first spell in the 3rd Division. I was promised a freebie from a Hartlepool born, Blackpool player, but he denied all knowledge of any such freebie. As kick off approached, I was stood outside the ground along with a couple of hundred, ticketless Sunland supporters, so the coppers decided to open the gates, and let us all in free, rather than have us go back to the pubs and cause chaos. We won, and I ended up on the pitch at full time, and somehow ended up swinging on the crossbar of one of the goals, which unfortunately snapped. Happy days.

Lets hope they can hold on for the 3 points, they are flying this season. Well looking forward to Liverpool v Man U today like hope Liverpool smash them.
65 mins gone at Accrington. It looks like Liverpool should walk the game but Utd at old Trafford you just never know. I fancy a Man Utd 1-2 Liverpool
This result will give all the top a boost apart from us knowing they can still get up there. Hopefully we can string some results together but it's looking at play offs I think :/
