Almiron

Needs dropping?

 

Don't know. Does some good work but goes to pieces in the box. What's the alternative, Atsu? Our whole system is a mess

 

I would play Almiron deeper, running in behind the forwards. A change may be as good as a rest.

 

He needs playing on the sodding left.

From January to May, Almiron didn't score or get an assist yet everyone was hand shandying over him, why? Rafa played him in the correct position.

Why are we critising him now? Steve plays him in the wrong position.

 

Someone tell our manager he has is left footed.

Funny he was a good player on the left and bow all of a sudden people cant figure it out

 

It’s all well and good saying to play him on the left but I think it’s the tactics that’s killing him. He’s running hi ass off because there is 3/4 of the pitch for 3 players to cover while the other 8 cover our defensive box 1/4.

by the time he gets up to support joe he’s knackered.

poor Joelinton is NOT a target man either. However that’s how we are playing him.

There is just to big a gap between our back 8 and middle 3.

With no one up top.

 

it's short sighted to say simply drop almiron and joelinton imo because carroll and atsu are even worse!

but almiron was without doubt better on the left..

OK, first the play him on the left thing. Why on earth would you move ASM for one final attempt to get Almiron to play effectively?
It's not just his 23 match goalless and assistless run. His positional play is frankly amateur, his passing poor, and his 'dribbles' usually fail. Yeldin's attacking prowess demands a better defender than Almiron (eg Ritchie). I believe he could become a player, but is no starter.
I absolutely agree Atsu is not a better alternative, so clearly, at the moment, it's the formation that needs to change. I'm also not big on the concept of the Longstaffs improving either possession or reducing the kick and rush stuff, so a midfield of 4 takes some picking right now. I'd be tempted to give Schar a go as one of them, and I think a run for Gayle up top might be productive both goalwise and in giving Joe Linton more support (or Carroll).

miggy is better on the left as max's fav position is in the middle and joel look better out wide

the lad can play it's the system.

playing him right at a time he was already struggling was a bad managerial call imo and we sont have anyone better atsu is turd and Ritchie is injured.

we need to get a functional system before we can blamer individual players … you could throw atsu on or carrol for joelinton and almiron but the same crap will unfold.

I just want to set your minds back to me getting irritated when I said the reason almiron was struggling was because he is not comfortable on the right..

Well been on the left again and hes not only playing better again , but he's scoring goals.

I hope that is the end of that debate.
