Alpine Renault F1: Team Thread

Couple of days til the launch but big announcement is that BWT are the new title sponsor for Alpine.

Great from their budget perspective, awful news from a livery perspective one would think

Is there any subtle way to get this hideous pink into a gorgeous Alpine blue?

 

I guess PU cover will be blue and side view will be predominantly pink! Really not sure blue and pink go very well together, maybe have to have white in between?

 

Yeah, pink is a weird colour choice for a water treatment company, you'd expect blue.

 

Something like this is not a bad compromise

 

That looks OK, I like rims, finally someone did something with them.

 

Alpine launch on Monday evening - just thought I’d share that the amazing Sean Bull- who we’ve probably all seen do fantasy liveries in recent years - is now livery designer for Alpine.

His teaser for this years car ready for tomorrow said “ready for Miami, Vapourware, Blade Runner vibes!”

I hope therefore he’s gone for a night Miami where it’s a dark base livery that allows the pinks and blues to really pop! (Can’t believe I’m saying this- am I Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen? )

With Mercedes reverting back to traditional silver arrow, there is space on the grid for a black car with some incredible design on.

Just been launched. Looks very boring but suspect its a show car. The livery is not that bad. It's safe.

 

Colours don't look bad considering the pink. Very interesting vents and side pods shape. I think you are right that it's a dummy car.

 

First two races they will apparently be running an inverted livery.

 

I ****ing hate this sponsor livery.

His can a water conservation company be pink FFS.

Surely a more tasteful way to pop the BWT pink than this ****e

I don't mind the main livery....but why do they feel the need to run the full pink for two races? That one is just too much. Look like it's sponsored by Pepto Bismol.

I thought it may be the colour litmus turns to when in contact with perfect drinking water, but it isn't, so I guess it must be the boss's favourite colour.

 

Well...yeah..

 

Alpine did a filming 100km today but very little has leaked except some short amateur videos.

Engine sounded different for sure.


Apparantly they had a engine issue at the start of the session but went on to complete as planned. Hope you they have it under control- Alonso deserves better than Honda 2015 episode 2.

 

Pat Fry confirming multiple upgrades for the second test and race.

Looks like Bahrain will be an amazing test to analyse the cars.

I got the impression that Alpine bought a super basic package to Barcelona - I’m really intrigued to see what Pat Fry brings to Bahrain, he’s a very talented guy.
