Don't know if this has been on, but like the bit about him making them pick litter up for 3 hours. One can only hope and pray he doesn't bring them success. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...w-Leeds-Marcelo-Bielsa-mark-Championship.html
We do try to keep off the beaten track. Not always possible but we try. It helps if you don’t use travel agents. We’d much prefer to go into a restaurant filled by locals & local tourists than one that caters for the foreign tourists.
Same here. Went to Corfu a few years back and someone was saying they were going to try a restaurant as it was full of people earlier so it must be good. The bloke behind the bar said don't go by where is full at 5 or 6 o'clock as tourists ate at the times they do back home, (English and Germans were the main ones there). Go at 9pm or later as that was when Greeks ate so places full at that time would be the best for Greek food. Good bit of advice, never had a poor meal. Got a taste for Mythos beer as well. Sell it here in supermarkets now but itbdoesn't taste the same here, as is often the case. What is the point of going abroad and eating and drinking exactly the same as you do at home?
Often try Greek recipes at home. One problem is our tomatoes don't compare. Can't beat the restaurants the locals use in Corfu Town.
We grow our own tomatoes. You're spot on about the best time to eat in Greece. I love Greece, but I do miss Drachmas. Mind you, so do the Greeks. Yamas
Yes. I went to Corfu in 2003, the year after they joined the Euro and everyone was complaining how it had pushed prices up. Though the prices were pretty good for anyone earning our wages, not so good for the Corfiots. on their wages though.
I'm off to Berlin in a few months. Just had a look and there's no Wethers there. Unbelievable. Should I cancel?
In Spain at the moment most of the TV is in Spanish! What's going on ? Hotel full of Johhny Foreigners ... If it wasn't for the appearance of Jonny Vegas on the plane out I'd have been in deeper shock
Aye but they found a new part of the wall this week - quite amazing really. https://www.dw.com/en/new-berlin-wall-section-found-by-trekkers/a-45067356
Love Berlin Been a few times Are you going for any particular reason? It’s ****ing massive! I’d recommend catching a Hertha game while you’re there
Will do. Did you do the stadium tour? Supposed to be really good. Think weve all got different ideas but we won't be able to do them all in a weekend. But the games the main thing. Obvs going to do Brandenburg gate, checkpoint Charlie and the Jewish memorial. 45 quid for flights, had to book it.
You’ll love it, but just plan ahead It takes a long time to get from A to B Cracking bars and restaurants, but historically fascinating
Didn’t do the tour, just a game. Really enjoyed it though. Just turn up in the car park with a case of bottles (cheap as chips) and join in with the ore match drinking there and on the trains there
Ye I can't wait. Amate has been a few times and he says the same as you. Learned from Barcelona earlier this year how time consuming it is, it doesn't look far on a map does it!!
Do what me and Askew did and end up at 4am in the back room of a kebab shop in the Turkish quarter playing some random game with pieces we’d never seen before...for money!
