One of the girls at school was a Shepherd although I wasn’t aware at the time she was responsible for any pies. In fact one of the teachers at school was a Mr Shepherd who ran the chess club, but not sure if made pies. I’m sure I didn’t know the cottage family though, so can’t comment too much on their involvement.
