Some more updates, at least some stuff going on. The interior stuff in terms of concrete kooks largely complete so the building will be skinned once the steel on the corners and all precast sections are lifted. There's 2 more sections to go up on skd side and 2 sections plus precast to be lifted on main stand side. Then the roof needs filling in before skinning etc. 6 weeks of half decent weather should see a lot of stuff done.
Work continuing at its own pace still. Skd side slowly reaching completion. Roof can't be coming off, they will be just ticking along on the wirks and insides over the rest of the hiatus for blood sport and over winter.
This is a picture set with credit to user steviepong2002 on skyscraper city. Now obviously he wouldn't be caring too much baout locals with this but. ANFIELD PHASE 3 IDEAS please log in to view this image and Phase 4 credit user matheus igglesias please log in to view this image Question for @johnsonsbaby @Red Hadron Collider @saintKlopp and others who would feel an actual connection to the locals and location would you support why I feel would be needed (demolition of houses on skerries roach and one side of Wylva road, thats 3 full rows of terraces houses gone for SKD stand expansion) to achieve phase 3. And would you support the above plan view of rerouting of Walton breck road to create a new KOP. (demolition of church, albert and park pubs (landmark pub there) and likely the sops and chippy just near the corner of the kop. This stuff surfaces all the time online but very rarely has any real constraints or care for people. You can only image living on skerries road with your front door facing the equivilient of the main stand a street width away and 20k fans piling out and in of there every home match.
The park is a problem as they have to run the road through it in effect. Same as church. There is a theory you wouldn't knock the Albert or club super store to build the same as the anfield road end. I remai to be convinced. Rawk has shots of the kop being built and the construction is remarkably similar to the new anfield road end but the thing is just narrower and shorter. The kop can be widened and in theory same roof truss lifted higher and extended on site or whatever. There's another 2k just in width on the kop
this is actually out of date already i believe theres a whole roof part installed on the SKD side but Paul Frost is a local and kopite and did this at sunrise so it's pretty spectacular to see
the truth as finally come out. the subcontractor for the cladding has gone into administration. this is probably why the anfield road roof removal was put off and work slowed on the roofing since Nov.
Bit of an aside:. I opened this thread and while reading this, Pandora (on random) started playing YNWA. Out of the thousands of songs on my playlist, seemed an appropriate one for it to pick.
Buckingham group are building our stand. They got stung last year when a contractor went bust on the craven cottage build (again a cladding company) and made a loss lat year of 14.1million. This year they've now had this company SD samuel go bust in December on our stand. some backer of the subcontracter apparently pulled out anyway. Buckingham are not commenting on the situation and neither are the club....... the issue here is Buckingham could have paid this cladder money upfront for materials or whatever and they have not said tough and walked off the park. we need to watch this one closely cos while there's lots of time between now and august next we could be looking at a big issue with the main contractor as well here.
thanks the council seriously ****ed that up and left dereliction round the area (see across Walton Breck Road also) my view is fsg should buy this off them for peanuts and bundle it for the sale process. if they do sell it to Arabs there will be a massive complex wanted around the area. you can also see for the shot exactly what Walton breck Road does to restrict the kop end which should be phase iii
Walton Breck Rd can be re-routed if the will is there. People could be offered modern houses twice the value of their current ones in the same area (or indeed elsewhere), and shops and office premises likewise. If the will is there it can be done.
I think so. the park pub and the church are the main issues but also the chipper on the corner and prob those 4 shops. that would imo at least deal with 95% of issues with space for phase iii mega kop. the Kenny stuff is far more difficult, it's a lot of folk being disrupted. but look at what the council have done with the derelict ground. we got that space but the council on the main stand side have been a disgrace.
apparently so. villa Park have overhang but the road is not an A road like Walton Breck. it's some sort of security thing but I don't know the ins and outs. it's be far far better for the club (purely selfish view) to have a large concourse round an expanded kop than have a ****ty bad access compromised kop due to a stupid a road that could have moved 20 meters
Well fsg clearly were not up for that approach at all as we had the ability when the main stand procurement was done to move the whole stadium like that. their model was to keep ****ty lower tiers and build up over them. this model simply won't work for Kenny or the kop as the seats are far too cramped for modern stadia
some interesting work done in the past week. the cladding has restarted and moved over towards the main stand side, they must have got some funding. the main stand side steel frame on the sode of the anfield road build has gone up a bit outer brick work is continuing a lot of the plant on the roof of the build has gone in. i am guessing we are just waiting for.more poured concrete terracing to arrive as I wonder if the cold weather held up that in terms of casting in sheffield(I think) the site also didn't pour the floors on the main stand end sections so it might have been the cold. all reports state they are on track for end of season
