So other Premier League clubs are going to refuse to deal with us in January? They won't take any money for their players, or if they do it'll be at massively inflated prices. What a load of tosh. Each club will look after themselves first. Agents aren't going to sit back and enjoy less commission.
As if all of the other clubs owned by millionaires/billionaires are all humble, pure, moral on every level of their hierarchies and infrastructure. Newcastle is the only company ran by anything corrupt in the history of the sporting world ever. What a joke. They are envious because our wealth dwarves there's, and they want to try and put out the fire before it has a chance to threaten then.
Good, there's much better transfer value to be had out there buying from cash-strapped clubs in France & Spain anyway. Imagine us wasting 40mil on Ward-Prowse when players like Kessie would be available on a free soon.
Agree. I can understand those in direct competition with us may not but that would be usual. Those not in competition with us will happily sell players to us although will be inflated price not due to Saudi's but due to us being desparate because of the position we are in.
TBH even if they do we've seen previously there are much better deals to be had across Europe and while prices will be inflated there will be good deals available on a myriad of players across the continent and further afield with players out of contract at the end of the year, players disgruntled at other clubs, players surplus to requirements etc - how much power do clubs really have to stop players and their agents negotiating and forcing through moves?
I can guarantee you that these clubs will do business with us because it’s a two way street and money does talk. If they have players on the balance sheet costing them shed loads and they don’t want them they will sell. And like others have said there is better value abroad. Plus provided we get the infrastructure right we will be finding our own gems and that will involved lower league clubs who will depend on the loan deals to help develop the players.
Think Man City might be happy to sell to us. Maybe we can just do a deal with them where they buy the players for us and we buy them off of them. Honestly man, toys out the pram or what?
They can decide who they sell players too. But if they think a club with owners like Burnley have the money or the interest to deny a massive money sale they're absolutely bonkers. Sniffs of American owners this. 'Pool n United.
I could see trouble down the line with it,arbitration and the likes, what if a player wants to go to Newcastle but the club won't let him even if he was put on the market, that player will either sit in the stands or down tools till his contract expires.
once the first one does it, the rest will follow I believe this will be the same when manager recruitment comes along Howe has taken the first step the next guy will be easier to come in
It's never going to hold up. I would not be surprised if we got no PL players in January due to this & our likely league position. If we manage to get out of favour / contract players from Europe (Jovic, Dembele etc.) Then other PL players will likely be able to force through moves if they fancy us
It will never work as eventually PL clubs will want to buy our players. Imagine Liverpool wanting ASM in Jan and being told "Nah, sorry, this works 2 ways so we'll only sell him to a French/German/Spanish/ teams"
