I like this track too. I hope it doesn't eventually lose its place to one of the joker US GPs in miami and Vegas

 

Why is Qualifying starting 3 hours after the Sunday race starts?

It's the only event of the year aside from Japan that's very very awkward for European viewers.

There's no reason to be so late in Austin bar just being totally set for us tv and not giving a stuff about the main market.

 

That said though, having the race at 8pm tomorrow does clash with a shed load of NFL, so I wonder if there are other factors?

Either way, expecting the tyres to take a hammering tomorrow and think Mercedes might be the team to fight Red Bull if Ferrari continues to chew Pirelli’s like Hubba Bubba!

 

It’s been reported that Red Bull founder and F1 team owner Dietrich Mateschitz has died aged 78

 

I can only presume that with race must be started at a time no later than x to get 3 hours daylight but the quali can be prime time so moved.

 

Rest in peace.
Im not keen on Red Bull but you have to respect his commitment.

I would have loved to know what he really thought of The Helmet and Moaner .

Take those two out of the equation , and I don’t mind Red Bull .

 

The build up show is looking very windy!
I thought they banned grid girls but looks like cheerleaders are OK

 

Fingers crossed all the mechanics tightened up Lewis's brakes after the on grid work to replace pads and discs!

 

Oops George! Maybe he had same brake issues as Lewis on way to grid!

Well that's ruined the fun.

Unless verstappen blows his big end.

Bunch of munters behind Hamilton as well so unless le clerc starts powering round he's going to be miles back.

 

Looks like Williams having mega issues with the wind blowing them all over the place!

 

Not trying to excuse Russell for punting Carlos, but the positioning of Carlos’s car is odd, he continues to come left once he has made the apex. It almost looks like he was avoiding the back of Max’s car and moved left in front of George.

 

Verstappen is struggling so much with the wind he’s 4 seconds ahead of Hamilton after 11 laps.

 

It seems weird that the teams only have 2 sets of Hard tyres and they haven't actually used them on this track but are now racing on them!
I suppose they know how their car reacts on the compound as they have raced on that compound at other tracks.
