Jofra Archer just brilliant to-day, in a wonder display of bowling BELOW 90 miles an hour what a player we have here.

Looks a great talent doesn't he? 6/46, excellent figures for any bowler in any game never mind in an ashes in first series, awesome. Just hope they don't break him in this series. Loads of games in no time and Root must resist giving him the ball every 5 minutes. Would like to see Curran at some point too, he has a lot about him that lad, not like Jofra but he'll be a player too for England in the coming years for sure

Thats my only worry about the lad, Root is using him too much for his own good. Mike Holding who knows a thing or two about the stresses and strains incurred in fast bowling spoke about the danger all day. He bowled far too much in the Lords test, but today he was phenomenal and we have a real chance to square this series, which could set up an ashes finale to equal the World Cup series earlier in the year, what a summer of cricket that would be.

Woakes is a very good bowler, not sure why he isn't getting more overs. The regret will be massive if we knacker this boy before he starts. Impact spells from him is what is needed, he's not a workhorse like Hoggard or someone. We're in a good position and maybe it was a risk worth taking but if this keeps up I't'll be a sorry sight in the end. There are hardly any rest days in this series and as much as we need to give everything to win it recklessness is not required imo.

On a separate note I could listen to Holding talking about cricket all day, such an insightful man amongst talking heads and older players who become parodies of themselves. He's a class act for sure

This in abundance. Other than Botham and Gower I think Sky have their commentators spot on. Hussein and Atherton are also a class act with Bumble ....well just Bumble...pure genius.

Tom Curran is out for the season.

Sam Curran is the better one and is fully fit. We just can't seem to fit him into the side.

Its been a shocker to-day tho' and our batsman have blown it completely, Lambuschagne has shown the headless chickens how to spend time at the crease, the art of leaving the ball seems to be beyond the lot of them.

You don't see Test Match finishes like that every day, well done Ben Stokes and of course last man Leach who scored one run in a last wicket partnership of 76..incredible.

Unbelievable stuff from Stokes a reverse sweep for six was the cherry on the cake, it is being hailed as the greatest test innings ever in the history of the game and I would not argue. We have to win the next two after that performance, the rest of the team owe it to Archer but especially to Ben Stokes.

We watched the end. Very stressful. Should have been run out and lbw if they had a review left. Unlucky.
