It would seem that way, another couple of points dropped to Dundee Hibernians to try and prove that the SPL is NOT a one horse race. Lawwell "Neil we have a big problem" Lennon "What is it Petey?" Lawwell "People aren't turning up for games because they think it's a 1 horse race" Lennon "What should we do? Reduce ticket prices? Give away free tickets?" Lawwell "Don't be so ****in stupid you ugly bastard. Start losing games." Lennon "But I don't...." Lawwell grabbing Lenny by the balls Lawwell "You'll do it and you'll like it you slut....jesus Neill are you getting hard" Lennon "Well it's been a while since Irene has touched m..." Lawwell "I don't wanna hear it."
Yeah, your champions, The Champions of Scotland, Celtic Be pedantic all you like, Medro The obsession continues. More! Here! Tomorrow! Or later today.
That's about as reasonable as suggesting that attendances are down at Celtic because Rangers are in SFL3. Both suggestions are idiotic, but one was suggested tongue in cheek.
Suggesting that removing one of the horses from a two horse race might affect attendances is idiotic?
9 other SPL clubs have seen a rise in attendances, only Hearts St Mirren and Celtic have seen numbers drop, are we to believe that the MAIN reason is because Rangers are no longer in the SPL, if so, how does that explain the attendance increase at 75% of SPL clubs?
beacause they all feel they have a chance of actually winning something maybe? Where as you KNOW for a fact that you will win the league. I wouldn't bother going either!
None of the other clubs are in the same position as Celtic since none of them would have been realistically competing with Rangers for the title.
Presumably Sevco have dropped 9 points in 9 games to make the climb up from Div 3 seem all the more interesting too?
Indeed, none of the other clubs are in the same position as Celtic yet we have some anomalies in the attendence figures across the SPL, most are up and some are down for reasons which are unclear, there may be valid reasons for this but like the nature/nurture debate, the answer is not black and white and the respectives rises/falls in numbers cannot be explained away by simple statements one way or another. There are several reasons why Celtic's numbers are down, perhaps Rangers' absence is one of the reasons, but it is not the main or only reason.
How can we be sure? Or rather, how can anyone be sure as you seem to be? This is exactly why your suggestion is "Idiotic", because you refuse to acknowledge other variables exist.
