We have two 'winnable' games to start with, but end of September to end of October is going to be very tricky, especially with Europa League matches sandwiched in between. Fixtures seem to be a bit more evenly spread after that and our end of season run in (on paper) isn't that bad, but will obviously also depend on who is fighting relegation, for Europe and who will have nothing to play for. Can we get some momentum going at the start? I suppose for the harder fixtures at the beginning, the one benefit is that fans aren't allowed back in the stadiums. So the players won't need to worry about hostile atmospheres adding to the pressure of the games.
Liverpool, City and Utd away before the end of Oct. Suppose it’s good to get those out of the way earlier in the season, but yes lots of fixtures with EL too
We should aim to win the 2 home games and get at least a draw from all 3 away games in Sept - on the form we have had that is achievable
Interestingly - Ozil came back into the lineup for a friendly against Atson Villa this week and we lost 3-2. Now im not blaiming Ozil for the loss but I dont really see him working in this current system look how much work Saka/Nketia/Auba put in. I cant see Ozil closing down and harassing with that sort of intensity.
Our Europa League Group (Group B): Rapid Vienna Molde FK Dundalk FC We should be expected to smash through that with ease. No long trips, either, thankfully. Austria, Norway and Ireland.
