***Arsenal prediction league - 2013/14***

Why is correctly predicting a loss worth less?

Do you guys know how much work it takes to run one of these leagues. I do one on our board (although Spuf does the bigger one that is equivalent to this) and it takes a fair amount of effort. You need to keep the scoring to a way that a spreadsheet can easily work out (depends on who runs the league of course and the level of excel skills they have). And here's a thought, instead of moaning about stuff all the time, appreciate the guy that does the work. When mine and Spurf's leagues are done, we are inundated with thanks for the efforts we make, but I haven't spotted any on here.

If SJW has disappeared (and I hope he hasn't) let's see how many volunteers there are to take it over.

 

Nobody is moaning and SJW is thanked for his work, so no need to worry yourself. My personal view is that the scoring needs to be kept simple to keep the workload down, but gooner was being tongue in cheek with that over complicated formula, you must have missed that

 

Yes, I did miss that it was tongue in cheek (just like I missed all the thanks he got - were they by PM then?).

My main point however was to say that there is quite a bit of work involved though, so I agree with you about keeping it simple. Just thought people should understand that it takes some effort to do - as you know.

 

I think SJW has been thanked on the thread, I know I have thanked him. It's hard work I know - I started it off.

Speaking of which. Will the Community Shield game count towards the new Predo League? I'm guessing PISKIE will do the Predo League and I'll try my hand at match threads

 

I'm thinking we should start the Prediction league on the first day of the season proper.

I haven't got the time to do it each week, so we need a volunteer if SJW isn't coming back.

 

Any idea what has happened to SJW?

 

Piskie and Cym have probably gotten in touch to see if he's alive and well, since they were making jokes about his disappearance.

 

I think he wanted a break from the forum. I have asked, but I've not had a response about whether he's coming back.

If he's not come back to me by mid week then we're going to have to look at somebody taking his place to manage the prediction league. Oxo is up for doing the match threads.

 

Get Spudsdisciple to do it. He spends more time on our board more than anyone else.

Such a shame Han/Kyle is not around. That would have livened things up enormously.
